Resumption of Egypt - Iran Ties on Hold Over "shir-o-khorshid"

The government in Cairo has refused to remove the old Iranian "Shir-o-khorshid(Sun & Lion)" flag from Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's grave, which was a prerequisite by the Islamic Republic of Iran for resumption of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

This issue has managed to stop in its tracks ongoing negotiations between Iran and Egypt on normalization of bilateral relations.
