[history]
Regarding "Teachers should speak out on policy," it was not surprising that a teacher spent her entire career indoctrinating susceptible, immature minds with her individual political slant. It was surprising that she would proudly admit it.
A teacher should not be an unchallenged propaganda vehicle preying on empty minds. A teacher should present the facts and reasoned arguments on both sides. Students need more history and economics, not tailored indoctrination.

"It was surprising that she would proudly admit it."
Most of the time they talk out of both sides of their mouth, saying whatever they need to, so as to gain access to your children's minds. They have no shame, but once in awhile when they are pushed into a corner as to their agenda, they will admit it, and the tone is always something like "of course you dumb idiot, of course we are trying to change your kids into commie socialist who hate God, you got a problem with that?" Then you will find out how much they really have contempt for people of faith.
