find an image you want to post.
put your mouse pointer on it and do a right click
then click on 'properties' you need to find the
web address, it will look something like this:
http://www.freerepublic.com/images/flags/usf24.gif
copy the full web address of the image.
to post the image, first type a left arrow:
<
then type:
img src="
then paste in the web address that you copied
then type:
">
you should end up with something that looks like this:
< img src="http://www.freerepublic.com/images/flags/usf24.gif">
you see that space between the < and the img?
It should not be there.
The only space that should be there
is between img and src.
If I had not put that space there, you would see this:
The HTML won't work if you don't get it exactly right.
Close does not count.

A problem is developing on the database server, I'm keeping an eye on it. I will have to take the server down late tonight for a brief period of maintenance if I cannot find another way to solve it. Unless it gets too bad... in which case I could take it down now for 15-30 minutes of sweet lovin' maintenance.

This would have been a better example:

Remember geocities doesn't allow any linking. Look at the properties of the following image. :)

Thanks for the Info, John. I'm sure you'll get it fixed with ease. I'm just glad to know that I wasn't imagining it.
Thanks.

Her real name is Hudson Leick, she's 33, and in addition to her "Xena" gig, she used to play Celeste on "Touched by an Angel" and Shelly on "Melrose Place."

It's quicker to use < i > and < /i > for italics and < b > and < /b > for bold -- also < u > and < /u > for underline, while we're at it. Of course there are no spaces allowed between the brackets and the code. I've just got to put them in here so that you can read the expression.

And don't forget < p > for paragraph -- the most imortant tag of all! Well, not so important any more, now that John has fixed FR so that we don't have to use HTML all the time. Remember the days when half the posts would have people screaming "Paragraphs are your friends!"
