You have to write html tags.
The scr img anchor bookended by the brackets, and the url of the image is identified. Remember geocities doesn't allow any linking.

The HTML sandbox is a good start.
Since this vanity ALREADY exists, I thought I'd use it to pose a question to the MOds. Is FR being glitchy, slow, unpredictable today? It sure is on my computer. Really slow for about fifteen minutes, then relatively normal for a while.
Yes, I'm logged in.

thing to know # 1
the image you want to post can not be on 'your' hard drive, it has to be somewhere on the web.
thing to know # 2
you have to know the complete web 'address' of the image.
thing to know # 3
you have to know a wee bit (nothing complicated) of HTML

To embed an image, insert the following HTML in your text, left and right pointy brackets included. The <p> separates the image from any text that precedes it:
<p><img src="URL">
You might want to take a look at HTML bootcamp too.

I'm looking forward to the answers that you will receive.
I am sure I WON'T UNDERSTAND ONE WORD OF THEM.
Glad there are smart people around FR to give you help.

I suppose an example would help, too. The following image was posted with this code::
<p><img src="http://www.cymerian.com/davismilkcarton.gif">
As an earlier poster noted, the image has to be out there on a web server (hence the http:// ...), and not on your local hard drive.

Ah, thank you for confirming that. I was thinking I was imagining it. Also, the size of my monitor images keeps changing. First it's the right size, and then suddenly it gets huge. Don't know where to change that.

All the HTML you need to know...
Basically, <some_tag> turns "some_tags" on and </some_tag> turns the "some_tag" off again.
<br> adds a line break
<em>italics</em> would add
italics <strong>bold</strong> would make text
bold <a href="freerepublic.com">freerepublic</a> make a link like
freerepublic < img src="imageurl.jpg"> adds an image like

If you can catch it, you can keep it. Good luck with that, there - last time I checked, Callisto was a demigod, and none too fond of humans.
