So if you hook up on the train this way, you could say "She blue me?"

Such encounters either are same-gender or, at least, involve one party illicitly endering the "wrong gender" bathroom.

Right. My point was, the story goes into sufficient detail to describe a heterosexual toothing encounter. Politically correct, relatively speaking. Also more titillating for a huge majority of the population, including women, for whom the idea of toothing is a decent fantasy (Hello, Erica Jong), but only a precious few would actually do it.

So I think there is a lack of honesty in the Reuters story.

Just think, the girls doing this kind of stuff could be making big bucks hooking, but are giving it away for free.

On another note, what a great way for a terrorist to spread an infectious disease.

It allows subscribers to store their personal details and what they want from a partner and when there are enough similarities between two people and they happen to be in the same area, it tells their phones to communicate with each other.

That's actually a pretty good idea.

Anonymous sex with strangers.

Yet another signpost, if more were needed, of a society about to go the way of ancient Rome and for the same reasons.

Depraved and idolatrous.

The story appears to pertain solely to male "toothers."

Someone's not reading close enough:

Jon, aka "Toothy Toothing" and the guide's author, explained toothing was born after he was "bluejacked" by an unknown girl while commuting to work in London.

That's clever. I hope he makes a fortune.

you are TOTALLY wrong- I am betting it is closer to 500 to 1 (or higher by an order of magnitude or two)

Sounds like another exciting addition to the luxurious homosexual lifestyle of meeting in filthy toilets in public urinals...

Ah, how I long for the good old days when guys would just go to the public restroom at the park and scrawl their telephone number and physical dimensions on the stall door.

*sigh*

My post went on to say that "[s]uch encounters either are same-gender or, at least, involve one party illicitly entering the 'wrong gender' bathroom."

(But yes, I did indeed miss the story's hetero encounter reference. Thanks.)

I was on the job in the early 70s, before NYPD laid off 6,000. One of the many things I witnessed that stayed with me was an attempted suicide in the section on Central Park known as the Brambles.

A forty year old Cuban was disconsolate over the behavior of his 19 year old former LI HS jock boyfriend. It seems that the All-American had just come out and was, shall we say, zealous in his pursuit of his new lifestyle. He was spending his afternoons in the brambles doing as many as twenty guys a day. The Cuban was heartbroken. One of the older guys actually tried to make him feel better by telling him that the 19 yo wasn't the only guy in the world, not worth killing himself over. This was all pre-Aids by ten years. The gay baths were operating wide open and areas like the brambles were off limits to anyone with normal appetites, unless some unsuspecting tourist family wandered in and got the shock of their lives.

I have no idea what happened to either guy but I am certain that the AIDS bug bit them and they died ugly.

"I predict that this practice will become extremely popular with the GAY community, about 4 million straight men, and maybe 3 straight girls."

lol...exactly. I can't imagine what would be fun about exchanging anonymous messages with what could be a serial rapist who is in the immediate vicinity. It seems too much like the babysitter who answers the obscene phone call only to find out the killer is actually in the house with her. Scary.

Seems like Rupert Holmes should update his song, Escape (The Pina Colada Song):

So I took out my iPAQ
Fired up the 'toothing' app...
