Instead of leaders we had a sexual deviant and his miscreant wife running the Whitehouse like it were a cheap hotel (in more ways than one)...the flailing flunkies...(noticed the smartest and brightest moved away quickly and started "new careers") who were left behind were too busy explaining and making excuses for all the failures that were plaguing their bosses especially in the areas of national and foreign security...
NOOOOO instead we had a Whitehouse whose big claim to fame was the record number of times it appeared in the tabloids with sleazy news...

You can probably cross link these. The Los Alamos fire, which didn't burn the complex, but wiped out hughe acreage around it, was set by DOI Forrestry people, despite high winds and a ridiculous fire index.
No one in their right mind would attempt a "controlled burn" under those circumstances.
Unless, that is, they were trying to destroy or obfusticate something. After the fire, the drives with the N.E.S.T. data* majically re-appeared behind the Xerox machine...
*Kinda the equivalent of a Chilton's manual for every weapon in the US Nuclear Arsenal.
