TERRI SCHINDLER-SCHIAVO DAILY THREADAPRIL 19, 2004 FORWARD
April 19, 2004 | floriduh voter

Posted on 04/19/2004 2:05:56 PM PDT by floriduh voter

Persistent and Loyal Friends of Terri and of the U.S. Constitution,

I'm home from today's hearing which was held at the Criminal Courthouse Complex on 49th Street, Clearwater before Judge W. Douglas Baird.

Once I collect my thoughts from today's hearing which just adjourned about a half an hour ago, I'll post them here. Initially, I wasn't going to do any reporting re: the hearing but it was enlightening.

I learned today in the hallway that Terri's parents, siblings and other relatives are still unable to see her some three weeks later due to the criminal investigation of what may have been mosquito bites. But, that's a different legal matter.

I can't resist. Looks like SEN PREZ JIM KING has spent his share of time with his head stuck in a microwave. He's a clown legislator but he has the power.

JIM KING has no legacy as of yesterday's special session. I'll be writing to O'Reilly. He finished off Judge Rapkin in Sarasota. I'd like to hear O' Reilly ASK JIM KING "what people" Jim King is referring to that are less important than "dogs"?

Citizens of Florida? Citizens of the United States? Terri Supporters? Terri? Terri's family? Which people did JIM KING mean? What an inflammatory statement.

I believe that there's a rift between Jeb and Jim King. I hope there's rift between some of the Senate members and Jim King. MY DREAM FANTASY WOULDL BE THAT JIM KING BE ASKED TO STEP DOWN - NOW!!!!! Let's all help.

check out the 200s. JIM KING VIOLATED HIS OATH OF OFFICE AS SENATE PRESIDENT. He mouths off in public and it doesn't sound good for "the people".

Nope. Swine are noble beasts. I don't think King fits into that descriptive. The guy is bought and paid for - has Hemlock Society and Hospice crawling around inside his shirt. What a complete embarrassment to the system. He'll be out in November and I hope he's adept at digging ditches or fetching beers, because I cannot imagine he'll gain another public office as long as he lives. Not in this state, anyway.

I love it. Did you color that yourself? You're right. I shouldn't insult the pig family.

Do you know that gobs of people are emailing Jim King - well, they already were but this ANIMAL CRUELTY fiasco has energized people. I'd like to know "what people" King was insulting. He's sure an anti-social fellow isn't he?

I THINK WE CAN ALL AGREE THAT SENATE PRESIDENT JIM KING HAS GONE TO THE DOGS!!!

PETITION DRIVE TO OUST SENATE PREZ JIM KING... Contact Dr. Knox.

HOW/WHERE: First, we are presenting a resolution to the Duval Co. Republican Executive Committee for their approval because Sen. King is a Duval Co. resident and as a member of the legislature is a member of that committee. Then, we will ask the executive committees in the other counties in Senate District 8 – Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, Volusia – to pass this resolution or a similar resolution calling for the election of another Republican Senate president.

WHEN: Requesting immediate action

Senator James E. “Jim” King, representing Senate District 8 consisting of Duval, Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia counties, was elected as a Republican. Instead of supporting the bedrock Republican values and principles of less government, low taxes, sound money, private property and living within our means, Sen. King has ignored a majority of voters of the state by undermining the efforts of a Republican Governor and Republican majorities in the House and Senate to enact the Republican Platform into law.

Specifically, under King’s leadership: 1. The current budget provides for a $3 billion increase in current spending; and 2. Multiple expensive $40,000-a-day- special sessions are occurring to complete Senate business; and 3. Democrats serve as chair in 4 key senate committees and vice chair in 12 subcommittees, where qualified Republicans could serve; and 4. Senator King has violated his loyalty oath to the Republican Party by these committee appointments; and 5. Senator King has obstructed the adoption of comprehensive legislatively enacted reforms supported by the Governor’s Select Task Force on Healthcare Professional Liability Insurance, Governor Jeb Bush and House Bill HB 1713 which provides for a cap of $250,000 for non-economic damages for medical malpractice cases; and 6. Senator King has ignored resolutions from the Republican Executive Committees of Duval and St. Johns County supporting the $250,000 cap on non-economic damages.

By following his own political agenda instead of the Republican agenda, he no longer deserves the premiere leadership position of President of the Florida Senate. We are asking that he step down as Senate President, and the 26-14 Republican majority in the Senate elect a new Republican president – a true Republican.

Petitions can be obtained at www.doctorknox.medem.com

Senator King,

Now that Senate Bill 692 is withdrawn without having been heard, I think you owe the voters and taxpayers of Florida an explanation.

This bill, had it been passed, would have protected vulnerable people from wrongful death and conflicted guardians, but you wouldn't let it be heard. It would have taken life/death decisions out of the hands of inept judges and put them back in the hands of the individual, but you wouldn't let it be heard. It would have protected elderly and disabled from being torturously dehydrated to death, but you wouldn't let it be heard.

And all because it interfered with your personal legacy.

I think you are a disgrace to the state of Florida and a selfish, misguided 'good old boy' who has betrayed the voters in this state for personal reasons. How DARE you step on a measure that would protect the individual because of personal reasons?

Mr. King, you are the epitome of what is wrong with politics in this country. You should be utterly ashamed of yourself for not serving the very people who pay your salary.

Just had a shot of Jeb, looking on. He looks about as unimpressed as I feel. Keeping his cool, but doesn't look amused.
