BASRA, Iraq (Reuters) - Explosions ripped through three police stations in Iraq's southern city of Basra on Wednesday, causing many casualties, police and witnesses said.

Police could not say how many people had been killed or wounded in the blasts, but one car carrying children to kindergarten had been caught in one explosion.

Two police stations in the central Ashar district were hit by mortar bombs, police said. The third police station targeted was in the Old City of Basra.

The explosions in the morning rush hour sowed panic across Basra, which had been relatively peaceful during this month's surge of violence in other parts of central and southern Iraq.

The Iraqi's are in a fight against the same terrorists, Ba'athist leftovers, ISlamic Jiihadists and foreigh agitators as we are.

This is just more proof that the average Iraqi, who is in favor of freedom for Iraq, is just as much a target of these animals as we are...and many Iraqis are fighting and dying with us in this fight.

Attacks blast Basra and Falluja

Three explosions have hit police stations in Iraq's second city of Basra with many dead and injured including pre-school children.
Reuters news agency quoted police and witnesses as saying a car carrying children to kindergarten had been caught in one of the blasts.

Gunmen also launched a fierce attack on US marines surrounding the central Sunni city of Falluja, AP reports.

About 35 militants attacked with guns and grenades just after dawn.

The gunmen struck in the north of the city, mounting a "massive" barrage of rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire, AP reports from the city.

Explosions could be heard throughout Falluja as marines were put on high alert.

In Basra, police told Reuters that mortar bombs had hit two police stations in the central Ashar district while a third station was targeted in the Old City.

AFP news agency quoted hospital sources as saying 30 people were killed in the Basra attacks.

If the Jihadist thinks that another Muslim is betraying the faith by allying with we infadels...they are required to kill them.

These people (the Ba'athists, Islamic extremists, Jihadists, etc.) are nothing more than ruthless tyrants who are using their religion as a cover for their lust for power, control and coeresion.

Does no one see anything over there

There have been reports that many are helping our side .. but also, many are afraid .. remember these people have been under Saddam's brutal rule for the last 25+ years ..

And with Kerry and the other dems yapping about handing everything over to the UN .. I'm sure many are afraid we will pull out and leave them

IMHO, All suicide bombings in Iraq are carried out by foreigners, Saddam's 30+ years of brutality never allowed religion to take control of anyone. I believe most of the Muslim Jihadist have concentrated their focus in Iraq and Iraq id truly the front line in this War

I was hopeing and praying that I would be wrong, but I anticipated that around midnight central time we would get some bad reports out of Iraq due to Sadr's 2 day cease fire ended at midnight Tuesday Iraqi time.

God bless the innocent Iraqis and the coalition troops.

These people are terrorists......not the average muslim.
They bastardize the religion by picking and choosing what to believe and when for their own purposes.
