Gut shot - Butt Shot...
Yeah, and as I remember, those bacitracin dressings were a real painful ordeal,
I think it works on athlete's foot as well.

I have a question ....
Did George W. Bush release his military records through his campaign? ... Seems like Kerry is selectively filtering the information. How is it that W has 450 pages of information from the National Guard, where he was not injured nor received any metals, and Effin Kerrys record is 150 pages, with 3 purple hearts, silver and bronze, Vietnam, early release, etc. ???
Inquiring minds want to know. Im not totally hung up on the number of pages ... but it just seems odd.

Kerry's first purple heart: "Shrapnel in left arm above elbow. Shrapnel removed and appl bacitracin dressing. Ret to Duty,"
In civilian language, the treatment was: first aid cream and a band-aid.

How about if he purposely applied for the 3 and out loophole. He did not.
Kerry's spokesman alludes to what happened when he says, "although Kerry could have asked to stay in Vietnam, it was the Navy's decision to request that he be reassigned.."
Put another way, he did not jump. He was pushed.

He DID ask for the 3 and out leave, no matter what Marty Meehan says.

All of the stories I've read say HE asked for it -- in fact, most of the stories say that the people he had to ASK for the 3 and out had never even HEARD of it.

As I see it Kerry was #38 in the draft lottery, draft bait.(I know I was #24). He had political ambitions and when he couldn't get out of it he joined the Navy. When his coastal patrol boat assignment got changed to upriver he was out of the country in 4 months. He got his silver Star by charging a hut that had already been obliterated by multiple .50 caliber rounds and came out with a weapon. He already had 1 PH and 2 more to punch his ticket home. Piece of cake. That type of duty got you bumbs and scratches everyday.

I posted this thought on another thread, might as well post it here.
I wouldn't want anybody wounded 3 times in 4 months anywhere near me in a live fire situation. Bad doofus mojo.

Did they provide any documentation for the photo showing this navy man coming out of the jungle in combat gear?
Or was it just a contrived photo-op or later use?

Along with his final Purple Heart, Kerry received the Bronze Star after being wounded by the mine. One of his boatmates was thrown overboard in the blast, but Kerry pulled him to safety. Kerry did this with "his arm bleeding and in pain and with disregard for his personal safety," according to the citation. ...and he suffered shrapnel wounds in his left buttock and contusions on his right forearm when a mine detonated close to his boat on March 13, 1969.
Main Entry: con·tu·sion Function: noun Etymology: Middle English conteschown, from Middle French contusion, from Latin contusion-, contusio, from contundere to pound, bruise, from com- + tundere to beat... : injury to tissue usually without laceration : BRUISE 1a - con·tuse /-'tüz, -'tyüz/ transitive verb
So was his arm bleeding and in great pain, or was it a bruise? He got a Bronze Star for pulling a guy out of the water...but his "bleeding" arm was only bruised?
Sounds to me like his Bronze Star award doesn't match the facts either...

Put another way, he did not jump. He was pushed. And you believe that version? You don't think it had anything to do with his requests to "serve" in Massachusetts as an Admiral's aide, while running for congress on the anti-war platform?

you believe that version? I don't want to sound like Quidam, but I cannot elaborate on what I said before. Short answer is yes, I believe that version.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Meehan's statement in these news reports yesterday were the first time I've ever seen the statement that the Navy sent him out; all the other reports compiled on FR have said he not only asked to be sent home, but that he had to inform the powers that be WHAT the rule was.

I agree.....
I just met a Purple Heart recipient from the WOT a few months ago. He was sitting next to me on my flight to Germany for a TDY assignment. He was USAF Pararescue. He was shot in the face in Afghanistan. He was fully recovered, but for some pretty serious facial scarring. And you know what? He was looking forward to his time off (who wouldn't?) but he was also looking forward to his chance to get back in and protect our freedoms. It was an honor to spend a few hours with a man like that.
Now that's what I call a war hero.
PS

naw, bacitracin only feeds fungi, and you need to be in boots longer than 9 months usually to get foot rot anyways.
