Wild American Dogs (Have been in America for 10,000 years)

We have always noticed these dogs in Mexico & along the Tex-Mex border. We called them Mexican Yellow Dogs never dreaming that they were an indigenous breed. There was something on one of the cable channels (History? Animal?) about them.

If those are the same as the Carolina Wild Dogs, a friend of mine has one. They're very smart and cute as can be. She gets along great with my Lab.
