The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office believes three arson or arson threats at new housing developments are connected. "It appears that they're connected," said Jan Jorgensen of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Dept. "It can't be a coincidence. We've had three locations now within the last two days."
Bottles of flammable liquid were found Wednesday by a contractor in three houses under construction at the Storm Lake Heights development in the Snohomish area. On Tuesday, two homes were destroyed and attempts were made to burn two others at the Lobo development near Snohomish, causing an estimated $800,000 worth of damage.
Also Tuesday, bottles of flammable liquid and a threatening note were found at another development in the Clearview area. The sheriff's office, the Snohomish County fire marshal, the FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating. Eco-terrorism is one possibility, although no one has claimed responsibility.
Three years ago eco-terrorists burned the Center for Urban Horticulture at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Similar arson attacks have taken place in other states. Investigators in Phoenix said that some people opposed to urban sprawl set fires that burned up 11 luxury homes in 2002. Six homes went up a year later in the San Diego area. "Enviro-arsonists" took credit for those fires, saying the homes replaced wilderness.

This should be in news....
Been trying to figure out why I couldn't add it to the WA topic list.

Sorry, my fault it wasn't posted in news. But then again it has nothing to do with "Bond Girls" or "Britney"

Thanks for the heads up. We are currently in the process of building a house and have had endless complaints from someone filed over ever step of the process.

Love to see these eco-arsonists homes burned, and the lots replanted with native shrubberies.

This might serve as an update:
Earth Liberation Front (ELF) is suspect, according to 4/22/04 Everett Herald. The report reads, "A note found at one site mentioned ELF, but no one in the group has claimed responsibility".
