Peterson judge to summon 100 more potential jurors
By Brian Anderson
CONTRA COSTA TIMES
REDWOOD CITY - Having nearly exhausted an initial pool of 1,000 jurors, the judge presiding over the trial of Scott Peterson said Wednesday that 100 more prospective jurors would be summoned for the case.
Five weeks of jury selection have yielded 56 people who could still make the final panel of 12 regular jurors and six alternates. Judge Alfred Delucchi and lawyers need at least 14 more for the final stage of selection and have 62 prospective jurors left to interview.....

So Amber had her baby! Sighs of relief from the defense: no one will be parading an 8-mos. pregnant woman up to the witness stand to testify.
Unless, of course, the trial takes a really long time, and Amber gets pregnant again, and...
To: EmmaPeel
Thanks Emma! At least we won't be hearing any more speculation about her pregnancy interfering with her testimony.

Man oh man, this is a lot of work for them.
I just hope nobody's going to be paid off to be a holdout or something. IMO, "stealth" jurors needn't necessarily be persons insisting on conviction. They might be persons with an anti-death-penalty agenda, for example.
Last night I watched part of a show about that Darlie Routier woman. Wanted to retch. IMO, her husband is the geekiest nob I've seen since Russell Yates. Funny how these women always seem to have that type of husband.

Amber Frey, David Markovich Are New Parents

UPDATED: 9:19 pm PDT April 28, 2004
The woman whose affair with Scott Peterson is at the center of the murder case against him has given birth to a son.
Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred says massage therapist Amber Frey and David Markovich are the parents of Justin Dean. He was born Tuesday in Fresno.
Prosecutors claim Peterson's affair with Frey led him to kill his pregnant wife and dump her in San Francisco Bay in December 2002.

Darlie Routier of Texas. Convicted of stabbing to death her two sons, ages about 5 and 7.
It's a really disgusting case, Jackie. I saw a Court TV show on it last night which was sympathetic to Ms. Routier. As usual, they had to talk about what a horrible place Texas is. I wanted to scream at the TV, "If it's such a horrible place, then don't GO there!"
I've seldom been to Texas; it's just that I take umbrage at people from other states coming and criticizing another state. AS IF the northeast were somehow better. Yeah, right... I've been there, too...
And surprise, surprise, I think Darlie did it, and I hope she gets her turn on the lethal injection table soon!
Got to run at the moment, bbl!

There's probably a separate thread on this, but just in case: Catherine Crier is reporting that Geragos' pullout from the Jackson case is probably related to the prosecutors' investigating Geragos for possible obstruction of justice in that case. Allegations that someone coached persons' answers in depositions, and that someone improperly paid off a debt (a lease) for the family of Jackson's victim.
None of it shown to be certain at this time. But there are SUGGESTIONS that prosecutors may be building evidence to show some sort of improper conduct on the part of Geragos and his minions.
I have no personal knowledge of the above, just summarizing what I heard on Crier's show. Just possibilities at this point.

Oh, wouldn't that be swell? We can hope, can't we?

Geragos the Clintoneister an obstructionist?? Why do I find that hard to fathom? (NOT!) BWAWHAHAHAHAH
To: Velveeta; Howlin
I wish I'd been able to hear more of what Crier was saying, but someone was talking so loud that I couldn't hear the TV. I think we could probably find more on this obstruction of justice business on the Court TV site.
And yes, it would make my day if they actually charged Geragos with a crime, instead of the usual ineffectual rumblings about maybe making a bar complaint (big deal!) against him.

#122 - That's my EXACT feelings on the Stealth Juror issue as well Dev. It never ceases to amaze me how dumb and/or gullible he seems to think the public are!! I would put NOTHING past him (MG) at this point. With his summarial dismissal from the Jackson case, a lot of his "reputation" is hanging on this case. No??
To: runningbear
#125 - I think that statement by the dismissed juror is sums what is happening up very succinctly and truthfully!!
To: Canadian Outrage
Sheesh make that " I feel very comfortable that the new baby boy will NOT be named Scott"!!

I know the Darlie Routier case well also. And your right, it was truly disgusting. Remember her chewing gum and suirting silly string all over Devin's grave? This was supposed to be the Devan's birthday party???? Then when she was interviewed in Prison, her manner of speaking was just so "affected"!! I think the neighbours are right, Darlie Routier was a self endulging, self-absorbed, vain woman. These boys were allowed to ride their bikes all oveer the neighbourhood till all hours with no "real" bedtime or supervision. If those of you who have not watched the case, I highly recommend that you watch it. It has been repeated at least 3 times on American Justice and I'm sure it be will aired again.
To: Howlin
Remember Geragos was gonna "come down like a hammer" on anybody attempting to "harm" Jackson? Well look like this "tool" Geragos was threatening others with, just became a boomerang and came back and conked him instead! LOL To top it off, the Sr. Jackson's stated that Geragos was a "terrible" Lawyer!! Now THATS would let considerable air out of MG's balloon!! FOFL!
