Looks like Beyonce' Knowles is ready to fire back at the animal rights group that has been attacking her.
The Bootylicious Destiny Child lead singer has been targeted by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals because she wears fur.
Yesterday, a man identifying himself as Matthew Knowles, Beyonce's father and manager, called Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA.
Newkirk says that the caller identification signal showed that the call came in from Sony, Knowles record label.
'I wasn't in, but he left a message, 'Tell her that we're going to get to know each other very, very well.'
'You could take that as a good sign--if you're Julie Andrews. If, however, youre a realist, [at PETA] you look for a subpoena.'
Matthew Knowles didn't return MSNBC's Scoop calls, but Newkirk says she respects Beyonce-other than her fur wardrobe.
'She is such a sexy icon, she doesn't need to drape herself in a corpse,' Newkirk said.
'She wants to look hot, not cold.'

Looks like the PETA gal is doing some damage control before the lawsuit hits..

Beyonce's family (esp. the Louisiana creole side) are really conservative. Who knew? Her dad is no slouch either.

Rowr, the Republican gals are just really coming out =)
To: cyborg
i'm not surprised as she does deem herself a Christian...
To: cyborg
Beyonce herself was quite the Christian until she started revamping her image with Jay Z. (although I haven't heard any tales of her misbehaving lately )
Comes with having strong parents, I think her mom designs her costumes..

I don't see any mention of party affiliation in the article. Of course, if she is a pubbie, Bush had better move "heaven and earth" to get her in the Natl convention.

I recall hearing something about one of the other group member's doing a solo Christian album, too. I knew I liked them for some reason....

Jay Z has calmed down since he started dating her. I notice that he doesn't cuss as much. Actually he hasn't even put a CD lately. Her skimpy outfits helped her career muchly :) I think she's getting away from the skimpy outfit thing though.

She got into quite a lot of trouble for saying she'd never kiss a girl.

Where does it say that Beyonce is a Republican? Lots of liberals like to wear fur.
But I certainly hope it's true.

As I remember, when she was first coming up in Houston Beyonce and her family/group were staunch Christians.
I dont think that will wear off easily..
Ricky Martin and Beyonce as a double bill for NYC 2004?
To: threat matrix
Beyonce was a class act at the Houston SuperBowl this year, opening with great rendition of our National Anthem.

PETA is a domestic terrorist organization. Eventually,
they must be dismantled, and probably jailed. Clearly
they are, in some cases, violently imposing their
beliefs on Americans.
