Another district will debate state 'gender' policy Orange school board will hold a hearing on definition that has divided parents.

By FERMIN LEAL The Orange County Register

WESTMINSTER – Lauren Clay tells her daughter that three Westminster School District board members are heroes for successfully defending the rights of families in a battle against the state.

"Politicians tried to impose their liberal agendas on our families and these women would not accept it," said Clay, a Johnson Middle School parent. "In my mind, and the minds of many parents, these women are great role models."

Across town, Graciela Mendoza-Glavin, a Stacey Middle School parent, warns her two children that following the example set by board members Judy Ahrens, Blossie Marquez-Woodcock, and Helena Rutkowski will lead to discrimination against those who may be seen as different.

"All they're doing is using their positions of power to proclaim that not all people deserve the same protections from hate," Mendoza-Glavin said. "This is totally sending the wrong message to children. Not just here in Westminster, but everywhere else."

The battle between three Westminster board members and the state over a law that essentially allows students to determine their own gender was settled this week in one way, but promises to continue reverberating across the county.

One member of the Orange Unified school board has called for a public hearing before his district considers amending its anti-discrimination policy. "In light of everything that has gone on in Westminster, we need to better understand what we plan to change in our policy and what our community has to say about it," said Orange school board member Rick Ledesma.

Orange Unified board members agreed last week to hold a hearing before they vote on whether to adopt state-mandated changes to the district's anti-discrimination policy that include the revised definition for gender. The hearing has not been scheduled.

Monday, the state Department of Education decided not to sanction the Westminster School District despite the refusal of Ahrens, Marquez-Woodcock and Rutkowski, a board majority, to adopt a state-mandated definition that says gender is "a person's actual or perceived sex."

State Superintendent Jack O'Connell reluctantly ruled that the district's anti-discrimination policy, which defines gender only as "a person's biological sex," complies with state law. Earlier, he had threatened to withhold up to $10 million in state and federal funding if the district did not adopt the state definition. Ahrens, Marquez-Woodcock and Rutkowski rejected the state definition because they said it was immoral and would promote transsexual behavior.

The state definition stems from the California Student Safety and Violence Prevention Act of 2000, which was adopted to curb discrimination against gay, lesbian, transsexual, transgender and bisexual students and employees in public schools.

Many parents and residents across Westminster remain bitterly divided over the issue. Some applaud the board members for scoring a major victory for morality, while others accuse them of risking millions of dollars and wasting school resources for a personal fight.

Susan Lopez, who has 10 nieces and nephews in Westminster schools, said the state law goes too far by allowing children to decide if they are boys or girls.

"I cannot believe that (some parents) were more concerned about the money than they were their own children," Lopez said. "Society has become so focused on tolerance for homosexuals that they forget about morals."

Resident Erika Villareal, a student at Golden West College, said she decided after the state ruling Monday to support an effort to recall Ahrens and Marquez-Woodcock.

"I have no children or relatives in the district, but I will do my best to remove these women from power," Villareal said. "They say they want to protect children, but all they've done to this point is show children how to discriminate."

Three of five Westminister school board members took a stand, and basically won.

Now Orange schools are going to discuss the issue.

The Homosexual agenda is being pushed really hard in California schools. I sat in on an elementary schools meeting between teacher. During this meeting, they were discussing how to introduce homosexuality to children. Apparently, they want to sure that no one is "discriminated" against, so some of them want to read books like "Katie has two mommies" to first grade students. Then, a sixth grade teacher said that she tells her students that in her class, it's OK to be homosexual. First of all, in sixth grade, children shouldn't have enough sexuality to decide that they are or are not homosexual, and secondly, statements like that directly conflict with morality being taught at home.

Jeez! So now it's hate to call a boy a boy and a girl a girl.

What a world.

An excerpt from "Targeting Children - Part two: How the homosexual movement uses public schools as instruments of change"

"GLSEN activist and New York kindergarten teacher Jaki Williams said starting in kindergarten is a must, since children at that age are still developing their ideas about the world around them. Even at that age, she said, “the saturation process needs to begin.”

Williams, in fact, is a model teacher when it comes to this “saturation” process. She regularly initiates conversations with her children by reading to them such controversial books as Heather Has Two Mommies, Daddy’s Roommate, and One Dad, Two Dads, Browns Dads, Blue Dads. She also hosts a viewing of the video Both of My Moms’ Names Are Judy: Children of Lesbians and Gays Speak Out, produced by a San Francisco pro-homosexual advocacy group.

According to one writer for The Lambda Report, who infiltrated a 1997 GLSEN workshop, one former teacher admitted that changing the mind of a child required more than a one-time effort. She said she had to expose her children to a constant stream of homosexual words and images, because "It’s really a conditioning process."

Can they determine their own race, then? I mean a girl can be a boy and vice versa, why can't a white be a black and a black be a white. Actually, the two parents quoted in the article sound like they are both minorities in Westminster. There are probably fewer whites than any other race in Westminster, better know as "Little Saigon."

No. They are serious:

Bending Gender: California's new definition of gender invades private religious schools

"... Golden State girls aren't necessarily girls anymore, nor men men, since the State Board of Education (SBOE) shoehorned into California's legal code a new definition of gender. According to Title 5 of the state code, "gender" no longer means male or female, but instead "a person's actual sex or perceived sex and includes a person's perceived identity, appearance, or behavior, whether or not that identity, appearance, or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with the person's sex at birth."

As of June 2000, at least 18 jurisdictions-including Atlanta, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, Mich., New Orleans, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and the states of Minnesota and Missouri-had legally enshrined self-determined gender in their nondiscrimination codes using language similar to California's new definition. In all those locales, a person's gender is what he or she says it is, regardless of biology. And employers, including schools, may not take punitive action if, for example, a man wears a dress to work...

How were the floodgates thrown open in California? In 1998, lawmakers here passed AB1999, a Matthew Shepard-inspired school hate-crimes bill that State Senator Sheila James Kuehl (D-Los Angeles), a lesbian, authored. That law introduced into the Golden State penal code a new definition of gender: "'Gender' means the victim's actual sex or the defendant's perception of the victim's sex, and includes the defendant's perception of the victim's identity, appearance, or behavior, whether or not that identity, appearance, or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with the victim's sex at birth." The language, Ms. Kuehl told WORLD, was meant to label as a hate crime any assault motivated by "effeminate" qualities of a male victim or "masculine" qualities of a female victim..."

Homosexual Agenda Ping Time + California Alert! If any fellow California freepers ping the whole CA list, this is one to add to it.

People, please seriously consider taking your kids out of public screwels if you haven't yet done so. They will receive a better education, there is tremendous support among the homeschooling community, you will get to know them better and vice versa, and YOU will be the one influencing them, not liberal/leftist teachers, transvestites at assmeblies, not fellow students who've decided they're "gay", not homosexual activist teachers and administrators, and not the weirdos in Sacramento!

Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

"GLSEN Wants YouR Children"

The DEATH of RIGHT and WRONG
TAMMY BRUCE

For people whose entire identity and reason to live is based in their sexuality, what do they need to do in order to fit comfortably in our society? They must work to sexualize every part of society--and, as every good marketer knows, that effort must begin with children.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network describes itself as "the leading national organization fighting to end anti-gay bias in K-12 schools." This organization, which cloaks itself in a mantra about "tolerance" and "understanding," is implementing programs in public schools that are aimed at nothing less than sexualizing your children.

Keep in mind, GLSEN claims as its mission the prtection of so-called gay, lesbien, and transgendered children from harassment and discrimination. Think about this. Gay and lesbian Children??Transgendered children? GLSEN states it is working to make sure all primary and secondary-school students "accept all of their classmates--regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity/expressdion." Gender identity/expression in kindergarten???

I for one, and no doubt you as well, believe we should let children be children without having to "learn" about homophobia, especially when it's used as a pretext to gain access to a child.
