Poster’s request. B/W photo was from Baghdad in 2003, not North Korea.

The satellite picture on the left, of Yongcheon Station at Yongcheon county of North Pyongan province, was taken on May 13 last year, before yesterday’s explosion. Many apartment complexes and houses were densely located around the major street in front of the station. The picture on the right, which was taken 18 hours after the explosion, shows black smoke all around the station and indicates that fire is continuing to burn.

That smoke almost looks like it's made from a blast, not from a burning fire.
Ping....................

Maybe it's me but that right photo looks like it was taken very, very shortly after the explosion. The smoke clouds are still billowing up. It could be a coincidence, I suppose...

Someone was watching this site when this happened. IMO
To: Dog
I can't seem to get a sense of any orientation between the 2 photos... I'll keep looking.

It would take a hell of a lot of gun powder to blow the place up like that
IMO ... N. Korea is hiding something big

(wringing hands malevolently) Nothing like a touch of skullduggery to brighten the coming weekend. 10 to 1 they claim it was CIA and/or Halliburton in time for the Sunday talk shows.

Maybe, maybe not. In the late '40s there was a refinery or chemical plant explosion in Texas (Texas City?) that shattered windows for miles around and flattened the town around it. With the right combination of cargoes on those two trains, a massive explosion's not out of the question.
Although I wouldn't doubt for a second that there might've been explosives or ordnance on that train. This IS North Korea, after all, why else does that state exist except to support its military? Certainly not for the welfare of its people.

More than likely, the image only appears to show billowing smoke. You and I have seen smoke billow many times, but never from the height of a satellite.
To: Dog
Tinfoil hat maybe, but what is the chance that the train was carrying a low yield Nuke and it detonated unexpectedly?
To: Dog
Re #1
That much smoke after 18 hours means that this is more than boxes of dynamites going off. There are other flammables involved. There were reports about trains carrying petroleums and LNG. There were also other reports referring to fuel storage facilities around the station. So even if boxes of dynamites went off initially, there could have been secondary explosions involving petroleum products, which made things a whole lot worse.
To: theDentist
The WTC produced smoke like that for at least two days, and was still smoking about a week later (at least.)

Maybe the cause of this explosion was similar to that of the Trans-Siberian Pipeline explosion a number of years ago ;-)

You and I have seen smoke billow many times, but never from the height of a satellite I distinctly remember the WTC smoke from a satellite photo.
