Imagine the courage it took to make that decision when you're in your 20s and NFL riches are there for the taking. Imagine the character of a man who makes that decision shortly after his honeymoon. It's too bad so many people have to "imagine" this.

Tillman's death provides jolt of reality
Nothing like having our sense of fame twiddled with to convince us of reality.

Crybabies like Eli Manning and Mike McKenzie of the Packers should read this and weep.

Of course we can not bring to mind by name more than a very few (if that) of those who have given all they had to this country. Pat Tillman is worthy of remembering as an individual, as are all who perished, and will perish in this protracted conflict. I will think of him as a singularly appropriate representative of all our heroes.

Has Simeon Rice been asked to comment yet?? He was extremely derisive of Pat Tillman 2 years ago when Pat announced his decision to enlist. I've been hoping that some spark of humanity might have ignited in this otherwise greed motivated NFL prima dona as a result of Pats sacrifice. People like Rice do not seem to realize that guys like Pat are fighting this war on the enemys turf in the hope that we will not have to fight it here. Sadly, I think we'll be fighting it on our turf before long. Maybe then we'll see what guys like Rice are made of.
