In talking to people yesterday I kept hearing people saying the same thing, "I can't imagine doing that."
I don't understand it. Maybe you basic freeper is different than most people, but I have no trouble imagining someone doing that.

It's the old 'our young men are dying for nothing/oil/world domination/etc.' mindset that's been ingrained into the public mind for the last couple of generations.
The left certainly doesn't like to see this kind of sincere desire to serve one's country, even after 9-11. "The military is, like, so warlike".
