I don't have too much to comment on this article in terms of what is going on. It has been happening for the last decade, we are just starting to pay attention.

Something that struck me, however, was the fact that this conflict between European civilization (America included) and the Middle Eastern civilization has been going on pretty much since there has been civilzation. The Romans solved it by totally destroying Carthage and enslaving the people. The Middle East had a period of strength about 1000 years ago and they almost conquered Europe.

Strangely, they are now picking a fight with the West that they are certain to lose.

A transformation on the scale of post-war Germany in which major elements that define their civilizational charachter (namely miliarism) may have to be erased. And that only happens as the result of a catstrophic battle.

I thank you George for trying to avoid it, but I fear your efforts may have been in vain.

I appreciate you pointing out the obvious. I do not believe that I implied that it was. I wrote about civilizations. Rome was not Christian. This did not stop the two of them from fighting it out for centuries.

The point is that regardless of the religious mantle, we are two different peoples who have never gotten along. So conflict is inevitable and the only path to victory may require a very signficant effort to alter the character of those people.

That's where you're wrong. Before independence, if you were from a colony your ethnicity was British. At least that is what was stamped on my mother's passport. Read how long they've been there, they were there for generations but it looks as if these kids have unravelled completely.

These people speak with such boldness because no one is really fighting them. If the military ever did half of what these people threatened to do, they'd ne silenced immediately. I am convinced of it.
