Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Total Abortions since 1973

44,670,812

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)

The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions — California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)

· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing

· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby

· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child

· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)

· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career

· 7.9% of women want no (more) children

· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health

2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So how many women’s lives have been saved by abortion?

Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be “due to a risk to maternal health.” A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But let’s say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

I wonder if BBC America will show this in primetime. I know no major American network would dare show it, well maybe Fox.

Go ahead, lady, get the word out--it's MURDER, just as you "almost thought." These murderous women are so deep in denial they are drowning.

It was actually a very informative programme, though the presenter did state that she is a fervent supporter of a woman's 'right to choose'.

She also made an interesting point, she showed footage of the latest ultra-sound scanning which showed an unborn child moving, and sucking its thumb; she believed that this image would be more powerfully pro-life than that of post-operative foetuses.

There was much emphasis on the statistic that most abortions are in the first 10 weeks (i.e., casting doubt on the images of older children who had been aborted).

The worst moments were the comments from the abortion providers. One referring to performing late-term abortions said that he did not like it, but that one has to think of the children (i.e., he is killing the child for the child's sake). Then having shown the abortion procedure, the nurse who carried it out examined the foetus, and actually spoke about showing it respect!

I suspect that the film will confirm the pro-life tendancies of those who realise that it is murder; but that given its 'balanced' coverage pro-abortionite will find their own justifications in it also. After watching it, I sat frozen for a couple of minutes; it was really shocking.

I wonder if PBS will import THIS British TV show. I, for one, won't be holding my breath waiting for them to do so.

"I swallowed. I didn't want to say it, but the word 'murder' came to my lips."

Of course it did. Even a child knows right from wrong, harm from benefit and human life from inanimate object.

"The point is that abortion is an incredibly common procedure, but we don't see the images and we should have the debate with the full knowledge of what is involved," a spokeswoman said.

Absolutely. The truth can't be suppressed forever.

Who knows how many lives this will save.
