"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"

Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

State troopers to be issued assault rifles

Associated Press
CHATTANOOGA — Tennessee state troopers will soon carry Bushmaster semiautomatic AR-15-type assault rifles on patrol, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said.

The THP is buying 1,000 of the weapons to give troopers ''the ability, if they have to, to resort to deadly means of force that is also an accurate means of force,'' Lt. Rex Prince, supervisor of the patrol's ordnance division, said Friday.

The weapons were purchased with proceeds of property and money that troopers seized as ill-gotten gains from criminal activity. THP spokeswoman Beth Denton said she did not know how much they cost, but weapons similar to those bought retail at $1,080 each, according to the Bushmaster Web site.

THP officers are issued Glock .357-caliber Magnum handguns. They also carry a ''backup'' handgun and a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun in each patrol car, officials said.

They were allegedly headed south. CHP units were positioned at Skirball Center last night at 1130am to intercept them. Haven't seen anything further.

Also thought I should transfer our emergency contact list over here. If anyone missed this please send me a freepmail.
I have the master list of everyone and MamaDearest is my backup.

Transferring our emergency contact list from T-5 (4099,4067,4591) to T-6 to T-7

Following up on my posts #4099 & 4067.....

It was proposed that I keep e-mail addresses and phone numbers in case of a threat emergency or loss of FR due to site emergency. I have 23+ people who have responded.

It was also decided that there should be area contacts in case of a specific area emergency, so far the volunteers are as follows:

MamaDearest / Idaho

judicial meanz / Virginia

Indie / Texas Ham Operator

JustPiper / MidWest

Honestly / Kansas City

mfccinsd / San Diego

WestCoastGal / Palm Springs

thecabal / Northwest Ham Operator

tmp02 / Maryland Ham Operator

Each of the area contacts have the e-mail and/or phone number of the other area contacts. In case of emergency now we hopefully have a means of contact. This can be for your own area emergency or for a family member who lives in another persons area. Please feel free to freepmail your area contact person to let them know you are within their area.

If any one else wishes to add their e-mail to my list, please freepmail me. And, if you want to volunteer as a contact person for any area of the country please freepmail me. The northeast and southeast are not covered.

Also, matrix posters are working on certain areas of research: For instance MamaDearest and jerseygirl have volunteered to do bio/terrorism and unusual illness research and reporting. I think all4one is keeping unofficial track of train incidents, 4thygipper posts all emergencies trucks/trains etc. Granny in Az is the googler extrodinarie piecing together the puzzle of dates and names in threats. Anyone else keeping track of something? Let me know.

Things will be heating up now, so we need to seriously concentrate on everything we can!! The next weeks will be critical.

This is from Sean's site. The authorities have been notified.

26 April 2004 - Analyst Laura Mansfield discovered a posting on an Arabic language forum frequently used by known terrorists this morning that contained a very specific threat against US military forces in Iraq. The posting began with the following ominous quote: "The Mujahedeen Poisons Handbook: For poisoning the supplies to the American soldiers surrounding Al-Faloga".

It included links to an encyclopedia with step-by-step directions on how to produce and deliver various toxins and poison, including Ricin, various formulations of cyanide, and even Botulinum toxin. The document discusses the minimum effective dosages and also discusses means of delivery, including how to deliver them via transdermal means - through the skin - so that an act as innocuous as touching a doorknob could deliver a lethal dose.

Oh boy, Iran and Mexico are buddying up.

Khatami calls for reinforcement of Iran-Mexico ties

Tehran, April 26, IRNA -- President Mohammad Khatami in a meeting with Mexican Ambassador to Tehran Salvador Casian Santos here Monday underlined expansion of bilateral ties, particularly in economic and scientific fields as well as oil and gas sectors.

A report released by the Presidential Office media department quoting the president said that Mexico`s independent approach on the the international scene and attempt towards development as well as the membership of both countries in some international bodies such as G-15 forge close relations between them.

For his part, Santos referred to Iran`s ancient civilization and culture and noted that the president`s initiative of `Dialogue among Civilizations` is the best option in a world of arrogance.

Turning to Iran as a gateway for regional economic exchanges, he expressed the interest of Mexican officials in reinforcing and expanding mutual ties, in particular in economic, cultural, scientific and educational domains.

The Mexican diplomat also said that both Iran and Mexico share common approaches to international cooperation in a variety of fields such as campaign against terrorism and drugs.

Wow! Thanks for the update!

Here's hoping that if they left a metal box at one of the rest stops that CHP has it located by now.

I saw Peoria on the list and that one didn't surprise me. I expected to see Champaign, Ill also. There was a post way back in one of the previous threads about how Peoria and Champaign are on an underground network for the islamonazis and how easy it was for them to disperse into the student population at the U of I.

I've family very close by Champaign so I've been trying to watch for info in that area.

Lowell, Mass.. isn't that a mill town??

I just heard a transmission from one CHP office to send .223 ammunition from one location to another in an "urgent manner" CHP started carrying AR15s after the N Hollywood shootout, but I think it is on a case by case basis, because whereas I used to see more of them in the gun racks, I hardly ever see them now.

Give me a call, Chippies, I just received my box of 500 from ammoman.com (and saved about $60 in taxes)

6 small fires set by an arsonist today in the Twin Peaks area near Lake Arrowhead Rt 189. All were put out but that is a lot of set fires in one area. The AP article says it a little different.

Lake Arrowhead-AP) -- Six small forest fires near Lake Arrowhead were quickly doused today. Authorities are looking for an arsonist who may have set at least one of the blazes.

Arson also was blamed for October's weeklong Old Fire that killed four people, burned more than 91-thousand acres and destroyed nearly one-thousand homes.

This morning, some 120 firefighters responded to alarms near State Highway 189 west of Lake Arrowhead near the small town of Twin Peaks. The series of fires were each between a quarter to a half-acre in size.

At least one of the fires is deemed suspicious. Investigators say another may be have been caused by a faulty power line.

Last month, a controlled burn turned into a 350-acre forest fire in the San Bernardino Mountains and forced the evacuation of the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts.

Old Explosives Found, L.A. University Evacuated

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Police evacuated a Los Angeles university and shut down a major roadway on Monday after construction workers stumbled across two explosive devices that appeared to be of World War II vintage, authorities said.

"During an excavation some explosive devices were uncovered," Los Angeles police spokeswoman Esther Miape said. "We sent our bomb squad to determine what they are and as a precaution evacuated Loyola Marymount University."

Miape said the bomb squad had not yet determined the nature of the explosives but FBI spokeswoman Laura Bosley said it was "old military munitions." She said there was no evidence of any terrorist activity.

FYI

Posters target terrorist threat

The posters encouraging vigilance will be on billboards
More than 2,000 posters warning people about potential terrorist threats are being put up by police in Essex.
Two different posters are being used in the campaign, with one aimed at raising awareness of how terrorists operate in the community.

The second poster is for retailers, alerting them to the fact terrorists raise money through cheque and credit card fraud.

The posters will be on billboards to encourage people to be more vigilant.

I hope it amounts to nothing. I mean, there must be three or four scales those trucks had to pass through.

I remember this one....and this truck made it through AZ, NV and CA without getting found out.

Turned out to be disgruntled studio teamsters protesting non-union drivers for "The Alamo" movie. They were fined a large amount of money as CHP put in a lot of resources over this.

Man arrested after bomb incident

By: April 26, 2004

CLINTON - A Clinton man has been charged with second-degree arson for allegedly throwing a homemade bomb into the Alliant Energy substation Friday night.
Oliver E. Guertin, 27, 2715 S. 18th St., is being held on $100,000 bond today in the Clinton County Jail, charged with throwing the device after earlier telling his wife that he wanted to do "what Columbine did" and that he wanted to "kill the whole world," according to officials.
According to an affidavit filed with Clinton County District Court officials, Clinton Police Officer Bill Greenwalt was traveling north in the 100 block of North Second Street about 8 p.m. Friday when he saw Guertin standing on the Alliant Energy property. Guertin was facing the privacy fence, which is secured with several large electronic transformers.
Greenwalt said that as he drove by Guertin, Guertin turned and watched as the squad car drove by. Greenwalt then saw Guertin throw a blue plastic grocery bag over the security fence.
Greenwalt said Guertin told him at the scene that the bag contained chemicals and later said the bag contained ordinary household products that could be used to make a bomb. Jeff Shatzer, a special agent with the Iowa State Marshal's Office, came to the scene and examined the bags. He found batteries wrapped in cloth, with the cloth soaked in an unknown liquid substance. Shatzer also found notebook paper, which also was saturated with an unknown liquid substance. A paper napkin was found protruding from the bag, which was burnt. Greenwalt wrote in the affidavit that Guertin admitted to igniting the bag before throwing it next to the electronic transformer.
Jim Saunders, with the State Fire Marshal's Office, said this morning the construction of the homemade device was basically harmless.
But during the investigation, another Clinton police officer interviewed Guertin's wife Catherine, who said her husband on Friday referred to wanting to do what Columbine did. "He didn't want to just kill children. He wanted to kill the whole world."
His wife said she saw Oliver making a bomb inside their home and that he told her he was going to the power plant to throw a bomb at the plant.
During a search at the residence that night, officers reportedly found the items used to manufacture the device thrown at Alliant. Also during that time, the area near the plant was immediately closed off by the Clinton Police Department for public safety and the Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
"We were told that the device could have done some minor damage," Scott Drzycimski, Alliant Energy spokesman said today. "Our main focus was to plan ahead on possible ways to reroute power should it have been lost."
He said the company's officials were impressed with the quick action taken by the Clinton Police Department.
"The manager and our operations center were impressed by how quickly the police responded," Drzycimski said of the Friday night arrest. "And they were impressed at how quickly the suspect was apprehended."
