The Democrats are not use to any news person ever questioning them. So, Gibson must be working for the Republicans. Think of the questions President Bush has had to take from the media.

LoL - I'm on the east coast. All I'm getting on ABC is "The Sixth Sense."

"I see dead people..." fits right into this Kerry thread.

Nah, the ribbons are little cloth doodads that are strethed over brass and have little metal pins to hold them in place...they would throw quite nicely.

I, however, still have mine in a box somewhere, (if the sweet wifey didn't toss them.)

Wasn't he[at the time] telling people he was throwing his "medals" in?

Yep

What it boils down to .. CHARACTER COUNTS .. And Kerry has none

"I just love people's memories from 33 years ago, especially when they probably went out and got stoned later that night."

Yeah, Oliphant can remember exactly what he saw 33 years ago, but Kerry can't remember that he attended a meeting and voted on an assassination proposition 33 years ago.

DOES IT MATTER??

The man was Repudiating the Honors Granted to Him by his Grateful Government (i.e. His Greatful People.)

His SUBSEQUENT BEHAVIOR was That of a Person who had Rejected his Nation's Government--REPUDIATED IT's Beliefs--& Testified that His Government had Committed CRIMINAL ACTS.

YET, there have been NO CONSEQUENCES of his "Supposedly Devastating Testimony!"

Are We to believe that our ENTIRE Government "Covered Up" Widespread Atrocities in Vietnam? (A LOT of Us Believe that this is Possible,) or should we believe that there Might Have Been "Isolated Incidents" of "Un-Sanctioned Behavior" in a "Time of War??"

John Kerry's "Postwar Antics" were REPREHENSIBLE by ANY STANDARDS.

Despite his Unlimited "Cuckhold-Derived Funding," he is MORALLY & PHILOSOPHICALLY & PROFESSIONALLY UNFIT to EVER hold elective office in America.

IMHO

Doc

Thanks, guys - I'm a little surprised at the confusion given how many vets are on this forum.

Uh, folks? Not only are you given a ribbon at the time of the medal award, you can purchase replacements through any Exchange. After a bit of day-to-day wear they kinda get a little grungy depending on where you're working. And you wouldn't want the actual medals dangling off a work uniform.

With a credit card and a total lack of shame one can look like a gen-yoo-wine war hero. Of course, you're in a bit of a bind if anyone should happen to look into the citation, and some of us can get downright testy about that...

Now and then you'll see a medal in a pawn shop. I get a knot in my gut every time I do.

Hey, it's not about the medals or what he threw over the fence, it's about lying and he does that non-stop about this matter and many others! They don't call him a waffler for nothing! He lies just like Klintoon, the felon.

That's priceless! Kennedy would have brought Mary Jo Kopechne comfort in her old age. To bad he killed her when she was in the prime of life. LOL!

It took me 5 minutes to find that ABC channel. I bet it's been a long time since a democrat accuses ABC of working for the republicans.

You are obviously confused. A miltary decoration commonly referred to as a 'ribbon' is not actually a ribbon in the common meaning of the word. Actually, a military ribbon is a small piece of patterned fabric attached to a small metal frame that attaches to the uniform. Usually these 'ribbons' are displayed in small horizontal rows on a dress uniform. One could easily toss one of these "ribbons" as you would toss a small coin.

Oliphant swallows rather than spit.

He is afraid spitting would make him seem more of a moderate than a flamming lib.

Pols such as Kerry don't really care as long as his "groupies" don't require "cuddle-time" afterwards.

PS: What sophistry. Only a pathologically insane pure Leftist could come up with such distorted reasoning.

The issue has nothing to do with whether he threw ribbons or medals. The issue gets to the heart of what most people are beginning to see about Kerry. He flip flops and has no core. Bush and Rove were masterful to make that the first issue about Kerry. Not WOT, not the economy, not his liberal record. Make him out to be a lier and not trustworthy, then it doesn't matter what else comes out later. The reason this story is getting so much legs, is because Kerry is thrashing himself around like a fish on land. He knows he's caught, probably knows he's going to "die" (loose the election), but what else can he do. Thrash as hard as possible, and maybe he'll get lucky and flip himself back into the water.

The thing that is huring Kerry, is that this is even a story. That he is having to take time to talk about it. Bush is sucking up all the oxygen. As long as the WOT is front and center, even if bad news, it is good for Bush. Kerry is more and more each day to be seen less presidential. Even ask the folks over at DU to finish this sentence. "John Kerry stands for .........." I bet 95% of Americans have no idea. They know what Bush stands for, even if some do not like it.

Here is my take on the election results. Last time was the closest in history. What are the odds of it being that close again? Bush is better known and stronger than he was 4 years ago. Kerry is a weaker candidate than Gore. Forget all the current polls, pundits, whatever. Logic would lead you to believe that Bush will win this, and it won't be close as last time.

Still not very helpful. Did he throw only those ribbons he took out of his pocket (which could have belonged to anyone), or ribbons he removed from the outside of his shirt, that is, the ones he had been wearing?

You're waisting your time. Oliphant would have no idea of the significance of what you are talking about.

Wasn't there a newspaper article written several years ago by a journalist who observed Kerry's medals hanging on the wall of his Senate Office. When he told Kerry he thought he'd thrown his medals away, Kerry told him that those weren't his he'd thrown away, they were somebody else's. I can't remember who the journalist was, but I do clearly remember reading that story. Anybody know which journalist/paper/article this story was from?

Indeed...Kerry has made one of his issues that "the president is not a truthful person"...and now that has just blown up in his face.

David Corn has been on Fox & Friends a few times in the morning, and always opposite a Republican political analyst. Kelly Anne Conway ripped him a new one last week. He was pathetic..and he was made to look like the fool that he is. Frankly, I don't know how the Dems think they're ever going to get anywhere with the caliber of people they have as their spokespersons.
