...they have argued that Mr. Hussayen's technical assistance, even if he did not share the beliefs of the groups he helped, were like providing a gun to an armed robber.

Most of the facts are not in dispute.

This is a whole new area of law in this internet age, but I do believe it is wrong to being using the internet to incite violence, especially if you are an American and are inciting others to act violently against Americans in this time of war.

I don't know if that's in the Patriot Act or in some other law, but, we are at war, and people need to more carefully consider the potential impact of their words and deeds.

I frankly don't think that's asking too much, and I don't think that is different than any previous level of responsible conduct expected during every other war.

As for all the matters mentioned in this case, I have not yet had a chance to ponder everything. But, we are at war here and people need to take that seriously. Some of the writing I have read on some web sites, and I am thinking specifically of Michael Moore's comments, is just irresponsible beyond belief.

I am all for freedom of speech, and if an American opposes a current administration I think there is plenty of freedom to write about it, but, I also believe it is wrong to be attempting to incite others to committ violent acts against Americans honorably and bravely serving our country. Freedom of speech does not include the right to scream fire in a theater or the right to incite others to committ violent acts against anyone.

Ther are no "innocent" muslims. Those that do not fight, remain as a bed of security to those that do actually fight. The muslim religion is a threat to our families, and a cancer in the United States, and ought to be outlawed since it is no religion at all, mearly a world group of financially and spirtually impovershed people" who conspire to steal from more developed countries. Muslims are not a "native species".

Not long after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, a group of Muslim students led by a Saudi Arabian doctoral candidate held a candlelight vigil in the small college town of Moscow, Idaho, and condemned the attacks as an affront to Islam.

Today, that graduate student, Sami Omar al-Hussayen, is on trial in a heavily guarded courtroom here, accused of plotting to aid and to maintain Islamic Web sites that promote jihad.

Looks like the "affront to Islam" nonsense was just what many of us expected - more Muslim subterfuge. After all, al-Hussayen is only following what the Koran has taught him: deception is a part of jihad.
