With growing issues over his wealth (which makes fellow plutocrat Bush seem a charity case by comparison), the miasma over his medals and ribbons (or ribbons and medals), his uninspiring record in the Senate (yes war, no war), and wishy-washy efforts to mimic Bill Clinton's triangulation gimmickry (the protractor factor), Kerry sinks day by day. The pros all know that the candidate who starts each morning by having to explain himself is a goner.

Then there's the damaging revelations about his gas-guzzling cars, SUVs, planes, boats and motorized recreational vehicles.

Yet, Kerry's worst Kodak moment was his hour-long MTP interview.

When MTP ran videos showing him testifying before Congress about committing war crimes, he laughed inappropriately, when one would expect a thoughtful comment on this serious subject. Kerry was trying vainly to spin........... then made a dumb comment about his hair, then and now.

Then we found out Kerry paid $1000 to fly out his hairdresser for his MTP appearance. Kerry's bigbuck hairstyling is ironic on light of his damaging comment about his post-Vietnam hair.

Not even when I light his cigarette for him...

Not even when he's tugging me by the hair with both hands...

The problem is that the dem's are starting to get it. Don't believe the polls either. If the private polls were telling them that Kerry was anywhere near Bush, you wouldn't hear any of this anti-Kerry talk. The truth is that Bush is at an unassaliable 45%, Kerry is probably around 35%. It is a very soft 35% at that.

Kerry is the perfect Dem candidate, for Bush. If Kerry is still around in November it might be a 50 state sweep. A landslide of epic proportions.

You mean like when gas was $.60 a gallon and milk was 2.50? Or when Nixon imposed wage & price controls? well... I don't want to go off into it. But things weren't as nice as they look on "That 70s Show", that's for sure, though they do get some things right.

If the rats are going to dump sKerry, I rather hope they do it now so we can properly define the replacement rather than a last minute "Torricelli Surprise(tm)."

I saw part of that interview last night. Chrissy Matthews might as well have said to Kerry, "Please sir. Unzip your fly."

Imus was joking this morning about how Terry McAwful had sat in for Chrissy last night, for the Kerry interview.

Lookit, Kerry will be so sedated during the debates, he'll look like a walking teleprompter.

The Punk Kid hates having to go out and defend the Snot from Massachusetts and then does so with a decided lack of enthusiasm.

In recent weeks, even Senator John Kerry’s closest friends have been at a loss as to why the Democratic Presidential candidate has failed to communicate the most humanizing part of his biography: his war record as a decorated Vietnam veteran.

If they really think that's the most humanizing part of his biography, no wonder they're at a loss.

Kerry is about the only candidate left standing in the Dem primaries. And Kerry still can only muster about 2/3 of the votes. 1/3 of the Dems are still voting for OTK (Other Than Kerry).

I don't think he could handle the pressures of being President. He goes around droning monotonously "Brinnnnng It Onnnnnn", but when faced with truth and facts, he cries foul and says it's Bush's fault or it's the VRWC all over again.

If he's paying $1000 for a haircut, I'd almost think he's paying just as much if not more for all that bad advice he's being given.

In a recent touchy-feely interview, Hillary told the interviewer (Diane Sawyer, IIRC) to watch for an 'October surprise.'

No further details.

Saw a bit of Imus this morning. He was insulting J.D. Hayworth. He is an asshole with a big hat.

Yep. Forget all that nonsense you've heard how excited, pumped up, full of resolve and unified the Democrats were during the primaries. After Dean was taken out, Kerry was the only real choice cause none of the other candidates had real stature. Remember why the Democratic field was called The Dwarfs? Its a sorry commentary on a party that couldn't offer young and fresh faces for the future. Their aging face is represented by that senior ward-heeler from the Seinfeld candidate's home state of Massachusetts, Uncle Ted. <Yawn

I went to the Village Voice website (first time I've ever visited), and saw the article you referenced.

John Kerry Must Go - Note to Democrats: it's not too late to draft someone—anyone—else April 27th, 2004 11:45 AM

WASHINGTON, D.C.— With the air gushing out of John Kerry's balloon, it may be only a matter of time until political insiders in Washington face the dread reality that the junior senator from Massachusetts doesn't have what it takes to win and has got to go. As arrogant and out of it as the Democratic political establishment is, even these pols know the party's got to have someone to run against George Bush. They can't exactly expect the president to self-destruct into thin air.

What to do? Look for the Dem biggies, whoever they are these days, to sit down with the rich and arrogant presumptive nominee and try to persuade him to take a hike. Then they can return to business as usual—resurrecting John Edwards, who is still hanging around, or staging an open convention in Boston, or both.

If things proceed as they are, the dim-bulb Dem leaders are going to be very sorry they screwed Howard Dean.
