Yes sure. Mike was sandbagged. If it was me, I would have given Charles Barron the finger *LOL*

I really wasn't listening to Sean yesterday. Did he talk about it? Did you get a phone call at all?I listened to his first hour; it didn't come up there. They didn't call me, I do know that much.
[shrug] No matter.

Well it's no big deal I guess. It was better than that little meltdown with Bob Dornan *LOL*

No way - don't beat yourself up.. you did great. That Barron could have shaken up a statue with his hateful, annoying interruptions. You showed dignity and clear thought.
I stand that Hannity should be embarrassed of what he did not do.. but you should not.
I think one mistake you may have made was thinking that the hosts would try and control that circus atmosphere on a televised debate show for grown ups.
Well I made the same mistake.

The way you're kicking yourself sounds like me going over replays the day after a football game--"If we would've gotten the first down here, then we could've gotten a field-goal here. . ." :) On Sean, he seemed pretty preoccupied keeping Barron under control, I wonder if that distracted him? I didn't notice you glancing down at the floor, I'll have to download the video and look for that. I thought your point about the 7 years still came across even though you didn't get as long to elaborate it. Finally on the blanking, look at it this way: you didn't say "Hiroshima" and President Bush can't say "nuclear", so you're in good company :)

I cannot believe that Charles Barron said that Saddam was a friend of America's.
You should have walked off the set right then AFTER you told Sean and Alan that you'd be back when they brought somebody on there who was halfway credible. For the two of them to sit there and let somebody SPEW all those lies is indefensible. Fair and balanced, my big old Southern white butt.
You did great, Michael; you were virtually out there all by yourself being attacked by two people and ignored by the third and you still managed to look like the only person on the show who was KNOWLEDGEABLE.

Sean could have jumped in at any number of points and didn't.Perhaps he is still bent out of shape at the "80%" of Freepers who don't like him.
BTW, did you know that Sean has a new book out?

You did fine. I emailed Hannity and asked him to have you on again so we can hear what you have to say, since they didn't give you much of a chance to say much the first time.

I don't think he knew that I'm a FReeper.
Yes, I do know about his book - haven't read it yet though.

Barron was on a roll. He had the advantage of being in the studio with Sean and Alan -- He sure did... he talked over you from the start with that "speaking for black people" frap. I think you came off very cool, and he was rude and shrill. You did well. Would have been nice for them to have shut him up and let you talk!

I saw part of the segment, but didn't realize it was our mhking.
I was impressed with your poise and your comments. You did very well and by contrast you showed that the liberal lacked stature.

Also, I kept glancing down at that floor monitor when I shouldn't have. Wise words from an old acting teacher:
There is no money on the floor.
Stop beating yourself up, and kick a$$ next time.

Also, I kept glancing down at that floor monitor when I shouldn't have.As I remember, it only occurred when you spoke to Colmes or Hannon, therefore, it is understandable..... ;-)

You did more than hold your own. You were great in an impossible situation.
Barron is a loud and obnoxious jerk that Sean likes to provoke. H or C should have cut Barron's mic when he kept shouting during your responses, it annoyed me when they didn't. More and more what they call debate is little more than a verbal free for all that makes me grab the remote and switch to Dennis Miller.
I'm sure your parents were proud of you. Of the four people onscreen during that segment you were the only sane, intelligent one.

absolutely outstanding.
this is my first time on free republic in months, thanks to my computer at home crashing, and them labeling it an "advocacy group" on the websense blocker at work, and I am so happy that this is the first post I saw.
I was just as proud watching that video as I was when condi kept her cool in the face of the scum on the 9/11 commission. quiet dignity trumps overt self-serving every time.
bravo!

Like I said, Colmes blindsided you, that much was obvious. If they had given you two more minutes you would have wiped the floor with him (I think you surprised him with your fast recovery), and chased Barron to the showers (he wouldn't have matched blows one on one, he'd be fighting way out of his weight.)
The important thing to remember is that you should be prepared for any off the wall questions the libs may hit you with. Remember that and the next time you'll take them.
I'm looking forward to a rematch, but I'll bet Colmes isn't.
