U.S. soldiers stacked Iraqi prisoners in a human pyramid, and attached wires to one detainee to convince him he might be electrocuted, according to photographs obtained by CBS News which led to criminal charges against six Americans.
CBS said the photos, to be shown Wednesday night on "60 Minutes II," were taken late last year at Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad, where American soldiers were holding hundreds of prisoners captured during the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
In March, the U.S. Army announced that six members of the 800th Military Police Brigade faced court martial for allegedly abusing about 20 prisoners at Abu Ghraib. The charges included dereliction of duty, cruelty and maltreatment, assault and indecent acts with another person

In March, the U.S. Army announced that six members of the 800th Military Police Brigade faced court martial for allegedly abusing about 20 prisoners at Abu Ghraib. I am not sure why this is a 60-minutes story since it seems the Army is taking care of the situation. Oh, I am sorry, this is an opportunity for CBS to show their distain for the US military. Nevermind....
To: 2banana
Yeah.... at least we haven't killed, burned, butchered, and strung them up in public.... (yet).

FLASHBACKS

Dan Rather [trolling again on the frequency of murder, mayhem and terror]: "Mr. President, if only you knew how
much I and others at CBS support you and Castro rather than our unelected (sic) Bush."
Terrorist-Murderer Saddam: "Mr, Rather, it is absolutely remarkable that you media girly men
will repeatedly betray the USA, your President, and even the free American people during war
and for so very little. You and Mr. Cronkite are truly amazing.
Do you realize, Mr. Rather, that for millions and millions of Iraqis and my captives
I had to gang rape each man's children and his wife,
and then burn them in nitric acid, and mutilate them by cutting off at least an ear,
and then force them to watch me push their children through a paper shredder.
Mr. Rather, I used to have to remove testicles and arms before we have every seen such betrayal.
But you and CBS, grovel to me ...... ..... for ..... for nothing.
Thank you, Mr. Rather.
Thank you. We, terrorists, al Qaeda, and Baathists worldwide,
are very very very very lucky to have you at our feet, Mr. Rather.
If anything happens to me, take care of my Baathists and Mr. Castro, Mr. Rather."
Dan Rather and Castro discussing the new CBS policy of supporting
Castro's murders of dissidents and proposing it for the DNC as future policy.

THE REAL DEAL
ISLAMIC TERRORISTS MURDERING AMERICANS AT A RATE OF 3000 INNOCENTS PER HOUR
Where is the outrage at CBS?

With the currrent situation in Iraq, I'm not ready to criticize these guys who were successful getting intel out of the enemy:
"60 Minutes II" also quoted from an e-mail which Frederick reportedly sent to his family in which he said of Iraqi prisoners: "We've had a very high rate with our styles of getting them to break; they usually end up breaking within hours."

I posted this on the other thread, i'll put it here too...
My brother got back from Iraq last fall.
He was a helicopter mechanic and flew along with transport choppers, the CH-46 Sea Knight..
Anyway, he has one story of they were taking a bunch of terrorists back to one of the prisons, and while handcuffed they were trying to chew through the hydraulic lines on the chopper. They would give them a good swift kick in the shins and that would pretty much end that idea. :).

The Tiffany Network is running pro-jihadist and terrorist propaganda. It might blow up in their faces.
If a soldier put a dead wire near a prisoner who had intel about a terrorist plot to kill GIs, the soldier will be considered a hero by the average Joe. The soldier saved several American lives for uncovering plans of attack.
A couple of years from now, when our troops are safe back home, it might appropriate to run these stories. At this time, I find it disgusting that CBS will sound more like al-Jazeera than an American network.

Today's reporters are more interested in being water carriers of anti-Americanism and in helping the Democrats than in showing America at its best and telling a straight news story. No wonder the public is deserting the partisan media in droves for alternatives like FOX NEWS CHANNEL. There's a good book out about how FNC crushed its competition.

What CBS (The 5th Column) is doing is causing more fuel to the fire, which will result in more GI deaths. Absolutely. This is not the time to run these stories.
Where is CBS professional responsibility for the lives of the young men and women who are in harm's way?
CBS knows that these stories only inflame the already volatile situation. Can't CBS wait a couple of years until Iraq is pacified before running these stories?

To: george wythe
This is good except that CBS will portray it as a story they "broke" rather than as just reporting what actions the Army already is doing.
The other tack they will take is the institution was wrong because they didn't train these poor "victims" on how to treat prisoners.
The Army seems like it is taking care of it and is letting the light shine on it. Good for them. I'm glad they have nothing to hide.
Turning over photos, interviews with the press, embedded journalists. How is the media going to be able to spin to the American people if the Army keeps on this way?

I remember during the 1st Gulf War seeing Dan Pick up stuff around destroyed Iraqi tanks and trucks all the while talking about how the Iraqis were dropping everything to get out of Kuwait. I seem to remember him stooping over and picking up what looked like an unexploded large caliber shell. I was hoping....oh man was I hoping....

Today's reporters are more interested in being water carriers of anti-Americanism and in helping the Democrats than in showing America at its best and telling a straight news story. What really gets my goat is that there is no justification to run this story at this time.
There is no cover up. Our military is handling the situation through the proper judicial channels with transparency. Therefore, the 'whistle blower' justification is mute.
This story will only inflame the already volatile situation; our men and women in Iraq will pay the price.

In fact now that I think about it, I never saw any of the dead bodies from 9/11.

CbiAS hasn't found one thing to complement our service men for. They sure can carp about how long it's taking, or that they sure aren't heros or some such. Whey don't they just merge with Al Jazeera and be done with it.
To: george wythe
Well, this should go a long way to help CBS' public relations. I bet the military will just love them now!
Like I said once before -- there must be a saboteur on staff somewhere, because no company in their right mind would do some of the stunts that CBS has done recently.
To: expatguy
You know, firefighters were killed on the ground from bodies falling on them.
Huh. I wish someone had the gonads to show the 9-11 footage again. Just run the whole damn day of it. We need to feel the anger again. We need to feel the unitedness again, the pride in our country for sticking up when stuck.
Someone, anyone, I wish they would run the footage again.
And then all the people, wandering the streets, not knowing about their loved ones, the fighters overhead, the war zone apprearance of lower Manhatten.

"They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of
South Vietnam Iraq in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."

Think there will be ANY mention of Daniel Pearl? You read my mind. What about the four civilian workers who were murdered and torn apart? Out of the thousands and thousands of troops, only 20 have allegedly committed these crimes. I think that ratio is very good considering 95% of democrats are crooks.

Is that the best thay can come up with? These are almost childish pranks. Were it any other military, they wouldn't have any problem locating mass grave sites, instutionalized rape, and systematic mutilations. It is a good thing the remote has an off switch, because it will be used liberally whenever 60 minutes is on.
