(JIM) TRACY SEEKS STATE SENTATE SEAT (Shelbyville, TN)

Jim Tracy of Shelbyville has announced his candidacy for State Senate representing the 16th District, which includes most of Rutherford, all of Bedford and Moore counties, in the August Republican primary. For the past 15 years, Tracy has owned and operated Jim Tracy Insurance, with offices in Shelbyville, Lewisburg and Fayetteville. He is vice chairman of Bedford County Board of Education and a member of the Chamber of Commerce Economic Development and Tourism committee. He is a college basketball official.

Tracy said his top three issues if elected would be Tennessee values, education, and keeping taxes low. "We have moved away from Tennessee values," said Tracy. "I support the protection of the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer in schools. I firmly oppose gay marriage. I support protecting the sanctity of marriage as the union between one man and one woman. "As a parent and former teacher, I will work to improve our schools. As vice chairman of the school board, I have learned how important it is that teachers have the necessary tools and resources. I support neighborhood schools and will make improving our schools a top priority.

"I am opposed to a state income tax and fully believe it to be unconstitutional. Our sales tax has gotten too high. With the improving economy, I support rolling back the massive sales tax increase passed two years ago," he stated.

Some candidates have the right ideas. Tracy seems to have the right ideas. He has run before (lost) and is running again. Americans just will not vote the right guys into office. Americans only have themselves to blame.

By the way...kind of odd...Tracy is a member of the church of Christ but that is not mentioned in the article. I wonder why?
