KERRY FLIP-FLOPS ON MISSING WMDS (Says they will turn up!)
Newsmax ^ | 4/29/04

Posted on 4/29/2004, 2:11:57 PM by areafiftyone

While the Washington press corps seems to have missed it, WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg has been playing a clip of Sen. John Kerry in his biggest flip-flop yet - showing the presumptive Democratic nominee suddenly admitting that Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction may soon turn up.

It's quite a turnaround for Kerry, who just a few weeks ago was complaining, "George Bush sold us on going to war with Iraq based on the threat of weapons of mass destruction. But we still haven't found them . . . . We were misled about weapons of mass destruction."

Key Kerry backer Howard Dean has been even more adamant, insisting to CNN earlier this month, "There were no weapons of mass destruction . . . This is Bushgate, which is far more serious than Watergate."

But Tuesday night on MSNBC's "Hardball," Kerry retreated.

"It appears, as they peel away the weapons of mass destruction issue - and we may yet find them," he told host Chris Matthews. "Look, I want to make it clear. Who knows if a month from now, three months from now, you find some weapons? You may."

Coincidentally or not, Kerry's reversal came a day after the Jordanian government announced that WMDs from Syria were part of an al Qaida plot to kill 80,000 people in Amman with poison gas. At least one of the plotters has admitted he was trained in Iraq.

The top Democrat's flip-flop also followed news that a suspected weapons of mass destruction production facility in Baghdad - disguised as a perfume factory - unexpectedly blew up, killing two GI's who were searching the plant.

The Dim's are getting nervous to try and outguess Bush. They've been bitten so many times they are now trying to hedge their bets. If in doubt, do a "Kerry" and take both sides of the issue.

Or he knows that the evidence is already turning up.

Tuesday night on MSNBC's "Hardball," Kerry retreated. "It appears, as they peel away the weapons of mass destruction issue - and we may yet find them," he told host Chris Matthews. "Look, I want to make it clear. Who knows if a month from now, three months from now, you find some weapons? You may."

Democrats fail to acknowledge these weapons are out there and would rather have 80,000 people dead to protect their political agendas and then twist it around to suit them.

Democrats are becoming more dangerous every day.

Very interesting. Kerry must have information about the likelihood of finding WMD's or he wouldn't be saying this. He's so easy to read. All we have to do is analyze his "nuances" to determine which way the wind is blowing, so to speak.

This article left out one of the key points of his statement. He said that WMDs may be found, but that even if they are, that they wouldn't be the RIGHT KIND of WMDs to exonerate W.

Is Kerry on the security committee? Not that he has actually been in Washington to do the job.

Right on CedarDave. Unfortunately when "future likely events" take place, not a single one of the president's detractors will be taken to task in the media. I just hope the electorate remembers enough to take them to task at the ballot box.

Hey, everybody has a dream.

If you go back, you will see Kerry actually made stronger arguements for goint to war and weapons of mass destruction in Iraq than Bush.

As I stated on another thread...several comments have been made on FR recently about the eerie silence of the "Where are the WMD" drums lately. That indicated to me that something was up...Kerry just peaked my curiosity even more with these comments. I think the Jordanian incident may have been the final key we needed to open that door. For some reason, I keep having flashes of President Bush revealing to the 9/11 commission that Iraq was involved in 9/11(hence the requirement that there be no taping or transcripts and that the meeting be held behind secure oval office doors). For some reason this is really haunting me today.

First off, I will give this story the standard "75% NewsMax Factuality Discount."

Second, I know that the off-party candidate eventually begins receiving security briefings, and as a senator JF'nK presumably gets briefings anyway.

Which suggests that perhaps there's some new WMD information making its way around.....
