It shows a total lack of respect on Kerrey's/Hamilton's part. Disgraceful.

Their motivation was as simple as that.

I heard one of them (Hamilton, I think) had a previously scheduled meeting with a Canadian official. However, our President and Vice President take precedence over any official from any other country, as far as I'm concerned.

No idea why Kerrey left. Hot lunch date?

Even the inDUHviduals over at DU know that it's a bonehead move for the democrats. So they spin it as a protest walkout. What a bunch of comedians.

Kerrey probably had to run so he wouldn't be late for the Chrissy Matthews show.

I think the 9/11 Commission hearings take precident over anything else these people would have to do. Imagine the headlines if Bush and Cheney left an hour early because of "prior committments"...

Kerrey probably went to get his "I Claudius" haircut fixed. He has the worst haircut.

Good one! Wonder if it costs 1,000.00

This whole thing is weird. How could there be any thing bigger than the pres. and VP testifying to a commission about a major security breakdown. These excuses were strange. I guess this was to embarrass the administration.

They didn't have the 911 professional families there to cheer them on, so what's the point?

Nor were they on TV so who cares. Very disrespectful but what can you expect .

Kerrey supposedly had a meeting with Pete Dominichi (NM Senator).

What's the big deal? As if either one of these idiots care about showing Bush/Cheney any respect?

And that's at the core of this entire folly. These men don't care as much about getting to the bottom of September 11 or improving national security as they do political opportunities.

I briefly dated a 27 year old gal a couple of years ago, who happened to date Kerrey a couple of years prior to that and she swore his hair is real.

This was nothing more than an "eff you" to Bush and Cheney. They still consider him an illegitimate President and will take every opportunity to publically disrespect this administration.

Hamilton and Kerrey knew well in advance about today's 9-11 Committee meeting. They both could have rescheduled the other commitments.

This is just further proof that the 9-11 Commission is a complete farce. This Commission and its members have no credibility; the whole thing has devolved into a politically partisan sideshow.

I am so sick of people crying about BUSH/CHENEY going in together! Why isn't anyone crying about the fact that Clinton took 2 people with him when he went to meet with the commissioners? (Sandy Berger,National Security Adviser, and Bruce Lindsey, his longtime friend and White House consigliere) I haven't even heard Fox mention that Clinton took 2 people with him.

...nor have I. Bruce Lindsey? He's always close by.....

Yep - Kerrey left to meet with REPUBLICAN Peter Domenici? Like Domenici wouldn't have waited an hour to accommodate the President? What a disgrace.

I wonder how long it'll be before there's mounting pressure for President Bush and VP Cheney to release the details of the meeting... under the guise of it looks like they're hiding something... Wonder when all of that pressure will start?

Clinton's companions has been kept very quiet by the media. Two references were made in the online Time.com. Newsmax picked up on it. Those are about the only references to Lindsey (Clinton's lawyer) and Berger attending with Clinton.

Link above to Time.com. Mention of Berger and Lindsey is in 3rd paragraph near the end of the paragraph.

Also Time.com link below. Mention of Berger and Lindsey in 2nd paragraph.
