If he had friends in the Canteen though.... I can see why he would just post it there.... Isn't that where it started?

I hang out in the Hobbit Hole... That place is a tighter group of friends than many have. We share everything there. Some things that we may not share in the same way anywhere else. It's public but feels private, and I imagine there might be the same sentiment in the Canteen.
