DHF had Freepers send stuff to him. If I remember right, he was a real con artist-type and his stories were very convincing.

I may be too pronoid, but Bogdan has not only been consistent, he's been thorough and has a Comcast home page that reflects what he's said here.

Also typing vs talking, second language learners generally learn English one of two ways, by reading/writing or verbally. He may write better than he speaks. He may have more friends here than out there. With four kids, FR may be his main social life.

all of that may be true, but all i am saying is that while Freepers will always give the benefit of the doubt, you cannot find people callous for being skeptical. The grandma dying in Poland, well i thought that was legit, the other high drama situations, all spawning threads, coming in quick succession week after week made me very suspicious. But i saw long-time, well established freepers responding, so i thought oh well. maybe. But this one, sorry, i can't buy this one. it is the cumulative effect of too much drama in too short a period of time to be believable.
