The president of the Florida Senate apologized to Jewish lawmakers yesterday after a guest pastor used Jesus Christ's name in the daily opening prayer.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Senate President Jim King expressed his regret after Dr. Clayton Cloer, senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Central Florida, gave an invocation in which he gave thanks for, among other things, the "freedom for people to believe in Jesus Christ."
