Ever the master of nuance, Mr. Kerry claimed not to have violated the $500,000 agreement because the $1.7 million was a loan, not a contribution. If I recall correctly from what I've read in another article .. they used their Boston home for the '96 loan .. just as they did to save Kerry's sorry butt in the primaries against Dean
