Former Pres. Clinton Urges Private Philanthropy; "We don't need the money" (Do as I say ...)
Worth magazine press release ^ | April 16, 2004

MALIBU, CA—Citing “a greater necessity for private philanthropy than ever before,” former President Bill Clinton urges high-income individuals benefiting from estate tax cuts to donate to charitable causes, in the May issue of Worth magazine, which will hit newsstands on April 20.

Mr. Clinton estimates that tax cuts, if they become permanent, will be worth an average of $180,000 annually to Americans in the highest income category.

“Since we do not need this money, and should not have received it in the first place, we ought to give it all away,” writes the former president, now head of New York-based William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation. “I do not know if abolishing the estate tax would, as the philanthropy community has always worried, lead to a dramatic reduction in charitable giving. But what it does mean is that we have to make an appeal for philanthropy explicitly on its own merits,” he states.

Mr. Clinton urges high net worth individuals identify causes that would benefit from their financial backing, expertise or influence.

As examples, the former president points to four issues that will experience the greatest benefit through his backing and personal commitment: economic empowerment in poor communities, both domestically and abroad; racial and religious reconciliation; educating and expanding community service by young people; and the international fight against HIV/AIDS.

“For those of us who have benefited from a tax policy that I deeply disagree with, but which seems like an entrenched part of our national life, we need to recognize that the inevitable price of that policy is a bigger gap between the government and the common good,” Mr. Clinton explains. “Philanthropy is willing to step in and help fill the gap, at home and around the world.”

With its acclaimed re-launch in December 2003, Worth set itself apart as the magazine that looks after all the best interests of readers with substantial family wealth. Combining the financial acumen of Worth with the luxury lifestyle expertise of 28-year-old Robb Report, Worth covers the philanthropic, family finance, business and lifestyle issues confronting individuals whose focus has shifted from obtaining wealth to the challenges of managing it.

Cool, a magazine for rich people who feel guilty about it?

(April 26, 2004) In the May issue of Worth magazine, former President Bill Clinton asks high-income donors who are benefiting from the estate tax reduction to contribute more money to charitable organizations.

Clinton argues that individuals in high-income tax brackets receiving additional money from the cuts in the estate tax don’t need the funds and should never have received them in the first place, according to a press release from the magazine. Instead, they should give the money away, and he notes four key issues that the money should support:

*Economic empowerment in poor communities;
*Racial and religious reconciliation;
*Educating and expanding community service by young people; and
*International fight against HIV/AIDS.

Clinton estimates that if the estate tax cuts are made permanent, individuals in the highest tax bracket will benefit by an average of $180,000.

However, the former President does add that he is not sure that the permanent elimination of the estate tax would have the dramatic negative impact on giving that many in the charitable sector have predicted. But it does mean, according to Clinton, that charities will have to appeal to donors on the merits of their own organizations, programs and causes.

Only in American, can a man who owns no property, has never had a real job, nor comes from a family of means be elected President and serve two terms and becomes part of the "elite" rich. Tell me what am I missing here?

Let's not forget those off-shore accounts he filled up with Mena cash during his gubernatorial years.

Um, thanks for the suggestions, Bill, those certainly are four of the most worthy and essential causes on earth.

So Klinton want the producers, those who work in our respected professions and have families, to give to charity, which most of us are already doing BTW, but the non-producers, i.e. those who receive their money from public office, heads of tax-payer funded liberal groups, or the entertainment industry shouldn't give to charity because they believe that other people, should.

The four "key" issues that X-42 cites can be easily solved by the private sector, free market, and non-federal government funding and involvment.

But we all know that Klinton believes in Marxism and globalism, so telling him this would be like talking to a wall.

You know what amazes me about these people? They throw it in your face their racism, their elitist ism, their supposed superiority, their in your face bald face lies, their contempt for the "little people aka people with no concept of logical thought process" who by the way are the majority of their followers and only those of us with an activated brain can see it.... I can not understand for the life of me the workings (can not say thinking)of the liberal mind. How stupid can you possible be? I listen to these so call high ranking democrat politicians and cringed over their stupid comments. How can people be so damn gullible? Especially when they are in your face with this stuff..

And just how much money has our former Crook-in-Chief, Billyjeff Clinton, given to charity? Oh, I forget, his favorite charity is Billyjeff Clinton. He's given millions to that "noble" cause.

Ne-VER-mind.

By getting more blow jobs than the fifth division of the Marine Corp is the only title this President will ever be known for which by the way had nothing to do with Ken Starr nor VRWC. Ken Starr nor VRWC made him unzip his pants nor made Monica open her mouth. Get over it already.

The only thing the VRWC kept interrupting was how many more interns he could have had.....

One thing Clinton never did nor could he ever claim title to was him working for the American people. He sure had time to meet with the Chinese, IRA, Arafat, his multi junkets around the world with everyone and their brothers along. (Wonder what those trips cost the taxpayers?) A couple of wars which somehow was not noticed by the elite media, war protestors, or the democrats. By the way, what exactly was the work of the American people that Clinton was not able to do in the eight years he was in office besides his daily blow jobs...Hmmmm???

Also, when are the American people going to get their apology regarding Oklahoma City????

"...Since we do not need this money, and should not have received it in the first place, we ought to give it all away..." So Saith Bill Clintoon

So, I understand he's in charge of wealth- redistribution then, right? Bill, who never earned an honest dollar in his life, is now referring to himself as one of the wealthier people around? Hmmm, where'd all that money come from Bill? Do people love you soooooo much that people world-wide just give you money? I wonder how much you received from James and Mochtar Riady of Indonesia,for putting 25% of this country's so-called "compliance coal" or "enviro coal" (i.e., clean-burning, low sulfur) off limits with your Executive Order declaring a section of Utah to be a National Park,Hmmm? You were so brazen you accepted becoming a member of their Board of Directors of their Company to boot right after you left office. The audacity of him telling people how to donate their money is one more consistent action for this lifelong pathological narcissist.

You are correct, I did vote for Perot and do accept responsibility for a low life being elected to the Presidency. An act that resulted in the death of many, many innocent Americans whether it be WACO, first bombing of the towers, USS Cole, two embassies, TWA 800, Oklahoma City and yes 9/ll. I do accept responsibility for not understanding the importance of the job of the Presidency. For this, I can not forgive myself but do you think you shoulder any responsibility???? I will not make that mistake again but are you willing to continue down this path of destruction? I now understand the importance of the Commander in Chief and how this relates to all of our futures but can you say the same??? If your intentions are to vote for Kerry than obviously you are wasting your time with me and need to utilize it in a more beneficial way by breaking open another beer....

I do learn from my mistakes, do you??

Why is the Democrat Party hell bent on having leaders with no ethics, no moral compass, liars, elitists and have so much innocent blood on their hands?
