Hi Prairiebreeze,
"American civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Sunday that he has "had prayer" with the wife of Thomas Hamill, an American contractor abducted in Iraq, and promised his family he would try to win his freedom."

Hamill escaped from his captors. Sure he did. I'll bet Haliburton paid a few million bucks to aide Sadr's militia in return for looking the other way and allowed this guy to walk. Haliburton strikes again.

"And he hopefully now can take the cavalry back to where he was held. We need to construct a memorial there. The Thomas Hamill Memorial Pile of Rubble."

You know, it is not beyond belief that someone could escape. I doubt Halliburton would pay off the militia, since it would only cause more people to kidnap Americans.

very true
well, I think the news we hear from Iraq will begin to improve.

Reuters news link (doesn't say he escaped; makes it sound like he was released): Reuters is getting close to Al Jezeera.

I'm hoping his employer finds him a stateside job. He'll be a target if he stays in Iraq.

Perhaps I misunderstood your intent, as it seemed you were saying the Jesse was actively negotiating for the hostages release, perhaps even in Iraq. The CNN link you provide mentions him only being "willing" and "trying to contact" Arab newsmedia and this from 2 weeks ago.
I have little doubt that if Jesse were truly, actively involved, the media especially CNN would have been covering it and we'd know ALL about it.
So I still don't think it's anything more than posturing on Jesse's part. He has a deep seated need to be in the spotlight sometimes. He jumped at this chance, even when there is really no story behind it.
