The former hostage Thomas Hamill shakes hands with two U.S. soldiers after his escape, May 3, 2004. Hamill, who escaped from captivity over the weekend, has left Iraq (news - web sites) and is on his way to a military hospital in Germany for medical check-ups, a U.S. military official said Monday. This is such great news! But I am afraid Jesse Jackson is unhappy with it. He wanted to "save" Hamill, but Hamill saved himself. Hamill didn't need Jesse.
I actually cried tears of joy when I heard the news about Hamill. I admit it. I cried.
God blessed Mr. Hamill and his family! God is good

I'm 6,000 miles away also. I am also not a military expert and don't play one on FR, but I will trust the military and their commanders over a liberal press any day of the week.

Don't let armchair generals who are 6,000 miles away from Iraq bother you Jim. You have not had an original arguement for several days.

It is Sunday at a little after noon. I met Mr. Hamill yesterday at the base I was at. I was shopping and did not know he would be there. I bought his book with little more than a Good Bless uttered. I could not even speak to tell him what a hero I thought he was. Every time I started to say anything my eyes would well up, and I did not want to seem weak to a man who had been so strong. In less than 24 hours I have read his book cover to cover and just wanted to wish Him and His Family the very best. What a strong man, if you happen to see this, My best to you, Kellie and the kids honey. She and the kids are also hero's! How strong she had to be, for you and the Kids! Wow. Your story makes me strive to go on, when all the chips are down, and I think it is no use to keep fighting to get a head.
Good Bless The USA.

Thank God , I hope he's healthy and offers lots of information on how these bad guys operate.

Reuters news link (doesn't say he escaped; makes it sound like he was released) But of course! Don't want to possibly give credit to the Coalition forces, or make the terrorists - sorry, "insurgents" - look bad now do we?
