Once in office, they are then circled by the "old timers," and are aptly swayed to come to 'their side.' So, the newbie lawmaker, wanting to impress his peers, is convinced that what the "old timers" want must be correct, since they have been in office so much longer.
Where does that leave the little constituents that voted for him? Swinging in the dust!
And when you call your Rep on it, they always say "Oh, we were outnumbered."
The only thing we can do out here is pick a candidate that we like to look at then do a lot of research on this person. You can find out just about anything on the Internet. Got to dig dig dig. Look how much has come out about JF Kerry!
