A very close friend of mine was 82nd Airborne, Tank Commander in Gulf War I. We were talking about all the recent events; Tillman's death, the military prison incidents, muslims exploiting every situation they can to make themselves look better, the American media making us and the military look bad at any cost to American lives ...he suddenly got real quiet and said ...'What Americans don't seem to understand is that the muslims will do whatever it takes and will never ever stop until we are all dead'....

As I recall, she's pretty left-wing but went out on a limb to support Blair on Iraq last year. Took a lot of criticism for it. I remember reading articles by her and about her decision before the war started. She had adopted a boy who was horribly wounded during the first Gulf War, so she is sypathetic and realistic about what went on under Saddam. I remember reading something regarding a museum being set up as a reminder of the Kurds being gassed--she was involved in that, if I'm not mistaken. This story sounds ridiculous, but considering the stand she took last year, I don't assume yet that she's trying to undermine the US and Britain in Iraq. Perhaps she's just gullible.

Dear Mr. Iraqi, You need to realize just how MUCH the US army (and other branches of service) would love to come home and how MUCH America would like to have them home. There's no question about it. Unfortunately before we can do that, your country first needs to learn to govern itself so it doesn't turn back into the sinkhole that it's been for decades and longer.

If you people would stop bellyaching and protesting and start helping, for example pointing out the bad guys and showing that you have the maturity to assume the responsibility of taking care of yourselves, it would hasten the process of having our guys come home. You'd be happy, we'd be happy.

But until then Mr. Iraqi, you can bet your bottom dinera that America is NOT going to leave and cause the deaths of all the brave soldiers we've sacrificed to be in vain. So I recommend you suck it up, get busy in a positive way, start helping yourselves and each other and put your damn sign down.

Oddly enough,her talks with Kurds made her aware of so many atrocities that she helped Blair in his position for war.She is a socialist,but is sincere in her human rights work.I recall the difference between Clare Short,who resigned her position in Blair's cabinet and Clywd.
