The dems would be nothing and ignored if it were not for the media hype of everything they say.

On television recently, I saw where President Bush was in Ohio. He was in an auditorium where it appeared there were hundreds of people there. The noise was tremendous. This was on FNC and the reporter was quick to point out these were party faithfuls. However, I have seen Kerry's appearances and they always appear small. Can any of you confirm me on this?

From a PR stand point, this really does hurt Kerry for many reasons. Mostly because it emphasizes his own remarks about war atrocities and the behavior of soldiers. How does he respond without looking like the turd he was in the 70s? How does he respond and ignore his statements about his own behavior? Women were heavily involved in this. It's not PC to bash women in the military.

Kerry has an issue that is ripe and can do nothing to take advantage of it. In the end, this will be a net win for Bush, Rummy, and the military. They'll rise to the occassion and take care of the problem. In a few weeks, everyone will be carping about something new.

Yea... I saw the O'Neill/Kerry debate on the Cavett show. The guy made sedition in America exceptable behavior. His love of spending other peoples money is a way of life for him... just as not spending a dime of his own.

Don't worry about it. Your reference was clear in that you referred to Mr. Kerry's Vietnam experience. I was just broadening the discussion a bit.

As much "humiliation" as those prisoners experienced, one thing that is likely to be true is that they will get out of it alive. Not true for those who never made it out of the WTC and Pentagon and the hijacked planes. I'd rather be alive to be humiliated than dead and not humiliated.

Again, not to sanction the mistreatment that may have occurred. The rules of engagement in this kind of action are clear. You don't mistreat those whom you have captured and are now out of the fight. Those guilty of doing so should face appropriate disciplinary action.

But I'll tell you and everyone else this. I'm getting awfully tired of the weeping and wailing of the international and domestic press and the opportunistic Rat politicians about these incidents. I'm keeping it in perspective. And those images of people jumping out of burning buildings and planes going in trumps any image of a prisoner on the end of a leash, or Saddam getting a groom job and delousing and teeth exam. They just aren't in the same league. These scum brought this war on themselves by attacking us, and if they suffer a little humiliation as a result then, well, it's hard to feel too much sympathy for them.

The administration is calling for "winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people" but I think they have to win the hearts and minds of the American people.Until the rats and the liberal media backs off that will not happen. The timing on the war was against Bush, after 9/11 he announced he would go in and snuff out terrorism and the countries that harbored them. Americans stood up and cheered. Flags and stickers were on cars and on front porches. Then came the democratic primaries, off came the flags, stickers and out came the trashing of Bush.

Kerry fears the longer the issue stays in the news, the greater the likelihood his controversial accusations of war crimes committed by US soldiers in Vietnam – including his own – will become an ancillary issue in the campaign for President.

Also, the more people hear about the abuse and realize that it was not 'torture', and was handled months ago, will start asking "Why all the hoopla, now?" and the blowback to the Dems will start.

Frankly, I hope Rumsfeld hands the Dem Senators their heads on platters today!

That being said I see NO reason why the Republicans do NOT start exposing the atrocities of the Democrat's presumptive nominee, "Effingkerry". Just start QUOTING him for what he says HE DID!!
