Mexico City, , May. 8 (UPI) -- Mexico will not cooperate with U.S. plans to speed up the overthrow of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, local news sources reported Saturday.

"Mexico will not subscribe in any way to the (U.S.) proposal that has been made, which is against Cuban sovereignty," said Mexican President Vicente Fox, reacting to the White House's tougher new restrictions on money moving to Cuba and plans to prevent Castro from passing power to a successor.

Fox seems to have a whole lot of respect for every country's sovereignty -- except for ours!

Repeat after me: Mexico is our friend. (/sarc)

I found another article about this:

Mexican President opposes US plan against Cuba

05/08/2004 -- 22:15(GMT+7)

Mexico City, May 8 (VNA) - Mexican President Vicente Fox on Friday said Mexico rejects a US plan to speed up the "political transition" in Cuba.

Addressing the 11th trade union congress of radio and television workers, President Fox said Mexico rejects any outside interference.

The president stressed that Mexico's policy is based on non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations, and thus "we will not accept interference by that country or any other."

For years, Mexico has always voted against any economic embargo against Cuba at the UN General Assembly, he stressed, adding that Mexico will continue this policy and will not support any US plan against Cuba.

The Mexican Foreign Secretary, at a hearing on Mexico-Cuba diplomatic tensions on Friday, expressed his wish for the maintenance of information channels between the two countries and said he hoped that Mexico-Cuba relations would be soon normalised.

Let's see here... Mexico went against us in the war on Iraq. Now Mexico is siding with Castro.

Tell me again why our current administration is bending over backwards to cater to Vicente Fox's and his illegal alien invasion?

Speaking as a woman, I don't usually see men bending over backwards that far unless they've got their sites set on nailing some woman. Since it ain't that, my only other guess is that there's a lot of money and/or political power in it for somebody.

I recall when those British divers declined Mexican help extricating themselves from the underground cave-river system Cuban "consultants" were quickly on the scene.

Until otherwise proven wrong I will continue to refer to our southern neighbors as "Marxicans".
