You are a judgemental ass, you obviously don't base your opinions on any facts, and you appear to be a jerk to boot.
Be thankful you don't have to deal with this.
We are NOT lazy parents, still married, I stay home with my children, no marital problems, the kids don't even have a TV, my son is the top reader in his school, he gets all As and Bs, and we get complimented on our children's behavior.
He ALSO has no impulse control which results in temper tantrums and poor decision making, has sleep problems, can't read body language, has a problem in the part of his brain that processes writing tasks.
We agonized for FIVE years before we put my son on medication. We tried vitamins, diet changes, occupational therapy, counselling, etc.

I'm truly sorry that your son has a disability that requires medication. My rant was in no way to dispair you or your son.
And apart from that, your situation doesn't change the fact that ADD is profferd by the medical and pharmecuetical communities as as a catch all for bad parenting and fattening the profit margin.
