He's not a bag of wind. Perhaps I ought to have used other words to describe Rush. A few that I can think of are:
pompous, arrogant, smug, self-centered, egotistical...I think you're getting the picture.
If you think that Rush helps the Conservative cause you're very wrong. He's largely preaching to the choir. He has turned off a good many folk who would otherwise be our allies; he has made Conservatives a laughing stock to many who might be more open to reason.

I love that windbag - and I don't care what you think of Rush. Your opinions about Rush carry about as much weight with me as France's opinion about the U.S....

Since Rush has dominated AM nationally, we have taken control of the House, Senate, and statehouses. Clinton aside, we have dominated politics nationally. GOP has governors in CA, MA, NY, FL, and most of the south. Rush has had a tremenously big part in this. Before Rush, there was no outlet of the right. We were to hear the national media and think that conservatives were a small minority. He changed that. The country is full of right-thinking Americans with pride in our country, and a believe in smaller less intrusive government.

"He has turned off a good many folk who would otherwise be our allies" And who are these "otherwise" allies?

Rush has paved the way for many other conservative talk show hosts. America is a better place because of Rush. That doesn't mean we have to enjoy every minute of Rush but he sure as heck can make us conservatives feel better when things look bleak.
God bless Rush Limbaugh.

Maybe you care to share your knowledge?
When Clinton went out of office, Rush had about 15 million listeners. The pundits said he would fade and blow away.
He now has about 20 million.
Can you do better, Mr Windbag?
