An unnamed source has told THE PATRIOT JOURNAL that the video of the beheading of US civilian contractor Nick Berg by his Al-Queda linked captors is brutal and nauseating. The video shows one of Berg s captors kicking him, shoving him to the ground to his left side. The video then shows a captor pull out a large knife and chop his head partially off. The captors then tug and pull until his head pops off. The captors then hold his head up to the camera as if it were a prop. His arteries can still be seen dangling from his head. THE PATRIOT JOURNAL has been told the entire video is very sickening and disgusting.

Was Nick Berg Jewish like Richard Perle? Does the hatred of Jews by Arabs extend to such a degree that acts such as this are merely taken for granted or are commonplace?

Are the feelings among Jews toward Arabs equally as uncivilized?

I've never hated anyone enough to act like this. And I thought I knew the definition of hate. This isn't the Hatfields and McCoys by any measure. What it is, is real ugly and offensive to most.

We really do need to undertake a serious war, which we've not yet done. We've only toyed with it thus far. Bush has done what he can, but our current demographics, the long years since a large percentage of Americans fought in a real war (even Vietnam bypassed many) and the obsession with global economic integration and consumerism, have made us incapable of fully mobilizing. Some say here it will take another 9/11 or worse to wake people up - I am thinking worse. It may be that we will only mobilize from the shattered remains of what constitutes normal life. It may be that a remnent of Western Civilization form up some sort of Charlemagnesque empire from which to roll back the heathen and barbarians. Whatever it is, I am ready.

What these Satan-worshipping savages did to Nick Berg was an atrocity and was torture.

Humiliation, discomfort, and stripping of prisoners are not. Forcing them to wear women's underwear is also neither torture not an atrocity. As means of interrogation, all of these are proper.

Photographing naked prisoners in quasi-sexual positions was stupid. Sexual exploitation of prisoners is not to be tolerated by civilized people. Any military personnel who do this are to be court martialed.

It is a sign of the moral depravity of the Democrats that they have attempted to exploit this issue for purposes of propaganda.

I think the video should be shown on all news stations. I am sick of the leftists calling the mistreatment of prisoners an "atocity" - they need to see a real atrocity. I am not excusing prisoner abuse but it needs to be put in perspective, like Senator Inhofe I am outraged by the outrage over the photos from the prison.

Number one rule: do not surrender under any circumstances. You will likely be killed or tortured and used for prop, so go down fighting to the bitter end.

I realize this guy was a civilian and not a Navy SeAL and I'm not thinking any less of him. But I'm here to say to anyone reading this: NEVER EVER surrender under any circumstances. If the enemy knows that, as a policy, US forces and individuals do not surrender, they will often not engage.

The interesting thing is that to me, this makes the way we treated those "abused" prisoners seem like a week at Disneyland.

I saw those videos too. And I'm still haunted by them. It's the screams that I can't shake from my head.

We wouldn't slaughter a hog that way in the United States. I can tell you that I've seen some pretty horrifying sights in my day ... I worked in the mortuary for three days after they brought in the bodies from the Pentagon attack, or what was left of them, and thought that was the worst thing I had ever seen. But nothing compares to those videos.

If the average American is anything like me, the effect will be exactly the opposite of what those savages expected.
