A popular teacher at a Brooklyn parochial school is in hot water after a sixth-grader stumbled onto his gay personal home page - then got punished in front of classmates.
Denton Black was pulled out of his classroom at the St. Mark's Day School in Crown Heights last week after 11-year-old David Brown E-mailed the teacher about a homework assignment and was exposed to the racy Web page.
...The day after David's mother complained to school administrators last week, the boy was forced to stand in front of his class for more than an hour, Greenwood said.

Something is not right. How does a six grader find his teacher's gay homepage? I don't buy that excuse that he was looking for it.

St. Mark's Day School?
oh, this is just great.
the reverend running the school claims he cannot fire the gay teacher, and punishes the kid for using a bad word?

Yeah, it's obviously this 11 year old kid's fault that this teacher had a homosexual site that had to be 'toned down'.
The dum-bass broad who defended this guy, as 'a great teacher', reminds me of the a.h.s who defended Clinton's criminality saying he was such a good President.

"The boy used the F-word, that's why he was disciplined," said Rev. Peter Bramble, the school's headmaster. "We are trying to run a proper school." Okay, 'Rev.' Pete. Good move hiring a gay dude to have lots of close contact with kids. Good job trying to run a proper school.
Retard.

The article says "the f-word" but I suspect that it could be a different "f-word".

David Brown, 11, holds printout of Web home page of his sixth-grade teacher, Denton Black, of St. Mark's Day School in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. David's mom says the boy was punished after linking to home page last week.

"Something is not right. How does a six grader find his teacher's gay homepage? I don't buy that excuse that he was looking for it."
"David said he stumbled onto the gay site last week - apparently by clicking on a link from the teacher's E-mail response - and showed it to his mother."
If the teacher actually sent the kid the link -in an email he sent to the kid-, the teacher should be not only fired but brought up on charges of corrupting a minor, far as I'm concerned.

Here we go with a suit against a parochial school for discrimination...if the principal fires or suspends the guy. Nice guy, or not. That is not the issue. The issue is his lifestyle, and by making the link available to the student on his paper or through his email, it suggests that the teacher was "scouting".

"the teacher should be not only fired but brought up on charges of corrupting a minor, far as I'm concerned." Two Problems that will keep anything from being done to the teacher.

How does a six grader find his teacher's gay homepage? The explaination for this is simple enough. The article says he clicked on a link in the email. I suspect the teacher replied from his 'personal' email account which had a signature to his home page...or the email address was from a personalized domain which made the kid curious.

I am assuming this school to be either Episcopalian or Catholic. Assuming I am right, what more has to be said in this situation?

This is great. Here a family puts their child in a parochial school expecting him to learn in a moral environment. Instead the child learns both about a homosexual lifestyle being advertised on the web and a "warped" sense of justice and administrative hypocrisy. The family should sue the school.
