This is a hilarious debacle for the Kooky Kerry Kampaign. His week was supposed to be spent railing against the administration on this, now it has turned into a liability that he cannot mention without getting egg all over his face! Just hilarious, and a great sign that there is major campaign disarray for the Dims.

I've heard it was the opposite. The Kerry-ites were confident that the measure had the 60 votes necessary to pass, so they didn't bother getting Kerry there and the measure failed.
While Kerry might be right, he's still stupid for being AWOL and letting this happen. He shows up, this is a non-issue.

This would not have passed if he had shown up....
This is hardball politics...he may complain that to be the case...as an excuse not to show up and vote...
But what kind of leader would give his opponents rope to hang him with?....John Kerry of course. I wonder what kind of blunders he has in store for the Nation?
Very poor judgment on his part not to show up and vote, and then make it a non issue....Not Presidential.

I just love this one...the idea that if he had showed up, it would have passed.
THE REAL DEAL IS: HE'S GETTING PAID AND CAN'T AND DOESN'T FULFILL THE JOB HE HAS AND HE WANTS A BIGGER JOB.
At least Bubba showed up at (under) his desk.
