Will Frist DO it?Would Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschle, Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Dick Durbin, John Kerry, or Patrick Leahy do it?
Answer: In a second.

I'm not holding my breath. Too many Republican Senators value the unidirectional collegiality more than the integrity of the constitution and the future of the country.

You want to forfeit the right to stop this?

"What about Specter, McCain, Chaffee, and all the RINO bunch?" Add Snowe, Collins and, maybe, Hegel...and you've got the reason why the bomb hasn't already been dropped.
The Senate Republicans aren't going to get a single vote from the Democrats (save Zell Miller, maybe)...and they can't count on any of the above RINOs.

they better do it now, what good does it do to talk about it all the time. Lose the majority because many Pub voters are tired of their spinelessness.
Then the Dems get in power and start getting their judges thru on party line votes because they will use the nuclear option. They'll say the Republicans were going to do it and threatened us with it, now lets see how they like it.

We can only pray that the Repubs actually get a pair!Don't hold your breath.

"However, Frist cautioned there would not be any immediate action." Of course not.
The Republicans get us all hot and bothered and believing they are REALLY going to fight back and then.......nothing.
I'll believe it when I see it.
To: CWW
The only thing Frist has his finger on is his prostate.

Here are the members of the committee:
Majority Leader: Frist
UT Hatch, Chairman
IA Grassley
PA Specter
AZ Kyl
OH DeWine
AL Sessions
SC Graham
ID Craig
GA Chambliss
TX Cornyn
If you want to send email - go to Congress.org, select U.S. Congress (in the list on the left margin), when you get to the new page, you can select the committee you want to contact, and it will list all the members.
OKAY .. LET's GET THIS THING ROLLING.
You may not want to send your letter to everyone one the committee .. but we all know pretty much which ones will assist Frist in this endeavor - Kyl, Sessions, Graham, Chambliss and Cornyn. And .. don't be intimidated by having to be a constituent - I always tell them - Hey! I'm a Republican and the last time I checked, I'm still a citizen of the United States of America.
If you do send an email or letter or call them, please give them this one little message at the end - and believe me - they will know what you mean .. Here it is: DON'T FORGET YOUR "SKILL AND DARING, DISCIPLINE AND ENDURANCE" TO REPRESENT AND DEFEND AMERICA.

I wonder if these Rinos talk about stuff like this just to see if they can get a rise out of conservatives (for entertainment or whatever).
To: CWW
I described this process in my column and on FreeRepublic almost a year ago. This CAN work, but the votes have to be lined up in advance and for SURE. Given the likes of Olympia Snowe and a few others, the Republicans don't have the votes to do this now.
I think that the Republicans leaked out the word on this now to shake the Democrats up. I sincerely doubt that they will actually attempt to USE this option until after the 2004 election, and then only if (as is most likely) the Republicans pick up several seats in the Senate.

They won't, they've been neutered by hillery and her F.B.I. files.
I've never seen such a group of pansies. They have the majority in both houses, they have the presidency and still the republican leaders act as if they are in the minority. They lack vision. They lack balls.
