hen ceci connolley referred the other night (Special Report-Brit Hume, FoxNews) to the decapitation of Nick Berg by the islamo-fascist animals as "part of a cycle of violence," my hair stood up on end.

It was clear that Connolley, a leftist, was attempting to subtlely equate that unspeakable horror with the Dems' BushBash du jour, the so-called Iraqi-prisoner abuse. (Explicitly equating the two would never sell, and besides, it wouldn't exactly be an image-enhancing move.)

When I began to hear other lefties use the same term in precisely the same context, it became clear that "cycle of violence" was the Kerry-DNC response to the al Qaeda slaughter.

By virtually ignoring the Nick Berg decapitation and continuing to push the Iraqi-prisoner "abuse," the left exposes its seditious, power-hungry hand... and its heartlessness. You can almost hear the whining. "We were on a roll with the Iraqi-prisoner "abuse." Why the [expletive] did al Qaeda have to one-up the Iraqi thing and kill our momentum?"

When Michael Moore last month referred to the Iraqi "insurgents" as latterday Iraqi Minutemen, that requires a certain kind of moral equivalence:

For this to be true, that means that the Revolutionary War Minutemen would have had to mutilate four freshly murdered Redcoats and hung their body parts off the Concord Bridge.

This moral equivalence is silly. CeCe Connolly oughta know better.

ohn Kerry, self-professed war criminal, needed the Iraqi prisoner "abuse" scandal about as much as bill clinton, documented rapist, needed the Saddam rape rooms or the marauding Milosevic rapist-guerrillas.

For this reason, Kerry did not respond for a full week to this latest leftist-fulminated Bush-bashing brouhaha, and when Kerry did finally respond, the focus of his condemnation was process, not content, his pulled punches notwithstanding.

Makes sense. War criminals, by definition, lack the requisite moral authority to address such war-related -- ah -- issues.

By contrast, the response from Kerry's leftist colleagues has been so disproportionate -- and so predictable -- that it approaches farce of farce, even if we discount demonstrated Democrat willingness to trade American blood and national security for reacquired power.

The Democrats, apparently not adherents of Aesop, have "cried Bush" far too many times to be to be anything but preposterous. (Thank you, Howard Dean.)

Are the reflexively self-serving, America-hating, power-hungry Dems simply clueless actors? Or are they part of a larger orchestrated effort to muddy up Kerry's Vietnam-atrocities swamp?

Islamofascist kill Westerners because they hate them. Liberals excuse their behavior because they hate America. Islamofascists feel encouraged by their successes and plot to kill even more Americans. Liberals excuse their bahavior because they hate America.

Interesting you should comment on that. When I saw/heard that it was like getting stuck with a hat pin. My wife missed it and I was in such a state that I couldn't tell her.

Connolley said that with that smirk she gets on it was too much. "Cycle of violence" is just another way of continuing to politicize something that they see as a way to get a leg up on the President.These people will see this country in rubble to get back the White House. There is no price they will not pay, or have us pay.I e-mailed Fox screaming about it, but somehow I don't see a lot coming of it.

Yep...I heard little Dick Durbin make the exact same comment on Gibson's show the other day. They seem to think they can equate what is happening with our WOT with what has been happening in Israel and Palestine. Next thing you know, they'll be telling us that we have to be bigger than the terrorist and take the first step to stop the cycle of violence. Never mind that we've been victims of this violence for over 30 years...as we minded our own business. It's almost as if 9/11, the USS Cole, the US embassies, the 1993 WTC attack, etc, never happened. The irony is, that throughout the 1990's we actually sided with the Muslim community in any number of aggressions as we attempted to appease and prove we meant them no harm. And yet, we still got hit on 9/11.
