Of course. I just wanted to highlight how truly bad Lieberman would have been in filling Dick Cheney's shoes.

Somehow, the fact that he's an "Orthodox" Jew makes me think that he would have bent over that much further during negotiations with Arab despots.

I can't imagine who J. Kerry would choose as his runningmate, but I have a sneaking feeling that it's going to be a lot worse then Algore's choice in 2000.

and we would all be in debt for the new "green" cars, as ours would have been condemned from road.
Also, we would all have red armbands and be best friends with China.

"You're supposed to write how wonderful it would be with Gore."

It wouldn't have been wonderful. It would have been 100x more deadly. Gore and Lieberman would have panicked and Hillary and Bill would have stepped in to save the day! Not!

Well, after 9/11 Gore would have officially put large scale military action off the table.

You could expect an American commando team to have been sent into Afghanistan that would be doomed to failure.

Then he probably would tried bribing Afghanistan to turn over AQ which wouldn't have worked.

Finally he would have launch missile and air strikes that would have had little or no effect on AQ.

On the domestic side, a President Gore would have pursued a much more restrictive and much broader version of the Partriot Act.

Further, he would have not rounded up everyone with any sort of ties to AQ or Islamist terror as Bush did, and therefore the anthrax mailings could have continued to this day. Perhaps though, after spending more then a year in a failed search for a domestic mailer, with ever more letters turning up the FBI would be forced to finally look at the terrorism angle - but that is far from certain.

With AQ looking like the strong horse now in the Middle East, one coudl expect increased terror against our nominal allies like SA and Egypt. Both would probably fall. At best Pakistan would enter a partial alliance with the Islamists, at worst their would be a full alliance following a successful assassination attempt on Musharraf.

At home, there would have been several major terror attacks after 9/11. Perhaps using the anthrax drop tank that AQ seems to have have acquired from Hussein.

In mid to late 2004 there would be several major terror attacks designed to get the US to fold further, and the likelihood of SA leading an oil embargo on the US unless we agree to permanently abandon Israel. And then after Gore caved more demands.

Whoever the Reps then ran in 2004 would win but much like FDR in 1941 we would be starting so far behind the curve that the military action required would be much more difficult - almost certainly involving both sides using nuclear weapons.

The United States would have already paid out trillions to a Nigerian firm specializing in "reparations"... an investment...he would later claim he was the first to be contacted about this risky scheme to bring millions of US$ back to America ... after hearing of the scam Vice-President Daschle was deeply troubled

The terrorists would not have attacked the WTC, but it would have melted down from Global Warming.

Tipper would win American Idol.

Hillary would, weekly, send him invitations to meet at Fort Marcy Park.

He would try to meet her, but the Segway would run out of electricity before he could get there.

Al Gore would have overreacted and Nuked Afghanistan and Iraq and the left would throw roses at his feet.

We have a winner. It ain't what's being done, it's all about who is doing it with them.

You local electric utility would be hounded by the EPA.

The project is basically about the butterfly effect, i.e. if one thing changed in history, what would the ripple effect be on the future. Most kids were picking obvious events such as Pearl Harbor, September 11th and such. He decided to go straight for the political jugular, I guess.

By the way, my answers were pretty close to what I have seen from FR, though I laced them with some basic "higher taxes", "U.S. viewed as a paper tiger in the world community", "the world's longest, dullest, most drowsy State of the Union speeches in history"...etc.

He'd be 20 points behind the Republican in the polls right now, and getting worse fast.

He'd be advocating extreme taxes on economic activity, with special surcharges on industry. Talk about a hemorrhaging of jobs. Sure, we'd have tax cuts under Gore, but only for targeted groups, and you certainly aren't one of them. Such a "targeted group" might be lesbians who drive only pedal-powered cars without engines and majored in Islamic studies. We'd also have special nationwide rules that rendered building much of anything pretty much impossible--kinda like some third-world country--unless you have a high-dollar lawyer who donates heavily to the Democratic Party.

He might have prosecuted the war in Afghanistan, but only after prostrating himself before bin Laden and forcing veep Lieberman to the gallows of Alcatraz as a show of solidarity. But it would have been a halfhearted effort at best, and bin Laden would have been relatively unmolested. We probably would have surrendered pretty early out, but we'd call it by some politically correct word.

We'd pursue a policy of appeasement toward our enemies, and the peril of that policy would become increasingly evident with each passing day.

And Gore would be unpopular.

No...they's send the Peace Corp to find out why they're so poor...and then send aid.

Not a single person on the planet except for President Gore would have actually stayed awake through his entire State of the Union address. An epidemic of terrible traffic accidents took place as it was broadcast live over the airwaves.

1) Saddam would have a summer home in Miami.
2) Israel would be flat, black and smokey.
3) Gas would be $2.00 per ga....oh, right things that would different.
4) I would be working for 7 mouths out of the entire year just to fully pay all of my taxes (property, sales, income, cap gains, and so on).
5) We would be entrenched in a civil war.
6) Farsi would be the new language of this country.
7) Our currency would say "In Allah we Trust"
8) Algore would have given us 50 more things that he thinks he invented.
9) Hitlary would still be a bitter evil witch (I changed it from the other word), but she would be trying to have an affair with Tipper.
10) Algore would be making the a list of all his criminal friends that will need pardons, because he knows its one term and out for him.
11) Free Republic would have 75 million new members.
12) Free Republic would be the new Political Party of choice and its candidate would be leading in the latest Zogby poll: by 69% and Algore with 5% and the rest being divided among the other smaller parties.

How's that for a start????

I forgot the big one--

To keep the American public from taking revenge against terrorists in our midst and preventing terrorist attacks, President Gore would abolish the Second Amendment. He would insist that Americans turn in their guns (illegal immigrants, Islamic militants, and known hard-core criminals of course excepted). He would use our military might to ensure that Americans could not defend themselves at a time when America desperately needed very serious defense.

1) Most of us would be dead.
2) The rest of us would be speaking Arabic.
3) Our only choices would be liberal shows on the radio,
and Al-Jezeera or Newsworld International on the T.V.
