"In Texas it is legal after dark to chase them down, shoot them in the back, run over them, whatever it takes, on your property or off."

Close but wrong. It is permitted to use deadly force after dark to stop the commission of a variety of crimes or to retrieve your stolen property if you have no other way of getting it back. However, once these criminals fled with nothing, they were no longer committing a crime. It could go either way with the DA before he passes it to a grand jury. A Grand Jury will hear the case, as in all Texas shootings.

I hope they get it without a charge from the DA and proceed to no-bill (issue no charge). We'll see.

When did they change the law? It used to be that if you feared for life or property you could shoot, and if they fled and you feared they would return you could still shoot.

So when they jumped in the truck to run them down... they shoulda grabbed the TV and brought that along...
