The sheer stupidity of calling someone who disagrees with you a trool is self-evident. Throughout history, small minds have preferred to silence the opposition through threats, initimidation or propagands (straw-man arguemnets included).

I have read so many blatantly false and misleading statements (from both sides) of this Terri situation that it has very much dropped my opinion of many of the posters here. There are 3 sects at war in Terri's situation: (1) The pro-life moralists, (2) The pro-choice immoralists, and (3) the objective types.

Many of the articles, most of the posts, and almost all of the arguments relating to this thing haven't been worth writing on toilet paper.

If you think for even a second that there is really foul play behind all of this, after so many different judges have analyzed the situation, you're paranoid and way too susceptible to conspiracy theory BS.

In May of 2003, Judge W. Douglas Baird offered to remove himself from a high-profile case in Clearwater Florida, citing his marriage to a reporter from the Tampa Tribune and his personal relationships with personnel from the St Petersburg Times.

Judge Baird has been asked to recuse himself from Schiavo v. Bush by attorneys representing Governor Bush because of public statements he made, calling Terri's Law was 'presumptively unconstitutional'. Canon 3 of the Code of Judicial Conduct requires that "A judge shall perform his duties without bias or prejudice". Judge Baird refused to recuse himself from the matter.

Likewise, Judge George Greer has been asked thrice to remove himself from the guardianship proceedings in Terri's case. In September of 2003, evidence came to light that suggested Judge Greer had a potential conflict of interest because of a possible relationship between the court-appointed physician and Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos. Judge Greer refused to remove himself from the case.

Oddly enough, a recent story from the Tampa Tribune clearly illustrates how circuit judges have the ability and willingness to forge inappropriate relationships outside of the law of the state and their own responsibilities as jurists.

The case of Schiavo v. Bush (the constitutionality of Terri's Law), Judge W. Douglas Baird has denied the Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, discovery and the ability to depose witnesses, denied due process by way of allowing the Governor to be properly served in Leon County, Florida (where Terri's Law originates) and is poised to issue a summary judgment on the constitutionality of the law without allowing for a trial.

Finally, as media can cause a climate that makes it impossible for one to have a fair trial, it should be noted that the St Petersburg Times has continually published articles that both defame Terri's immediate family and advocate her forced death.

It is overwhelmingly obvious that the case of Terri Schiavo has received unfair treatment in the circuit court, the local media and, as a result, in the public eye.

Re: Governor Bush, the OPPOSITION is attempting to fast track Terri's Law case to the Florida Supremes.

Not to be argumentative, but in the interest of accuracy, it is the 2nd District Court of Appeals (not Michael Schiavo/George Felos/ACLU) which has made the suggestion to expedite the case to the FL Supreme Court. Both Jeb Bush and Michael Schiavo, through counsel, have 10 days to state their objections, if any, to that suggestion, after which the 2nd DCA will make a decision one way or the other.

George Felos was straightforward about their hope that the court would go that route, and said so on Greta Susteren's program the same day that Judge Baird's ruled that Terri's Law was unconstitutional. No surprises that here, a week later, he's enthuastic about the 2nd DCA's suggestion, but he didn't initiate it.

For clarification purposes, only ONE trial judge and ONE appellate court actually reviewed the evidentiary record. The Florida Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court did not look at the facts. Both declined to review the case. Refusing to rule is not the same thing as studying the findings of fact.

It is total BS that 19 judges have looked at this and found nothing amiss.

Actually, no. We do it all the time.

This was a natural for Terri; lone helpless woman against the system, grieving parents, etc. but people close to them blew it.

I'm not going to go through the media relations fiascos that have occurred, (please see prior threads/posts) but they succeeded in driving away any "uninvolved" (Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public) support Terri had.

Same thing happened in Elian case.

Prolific (that means a whole lot of them) lies and rhetoric...

So, if everything Terri's supporters say is either rhetoric or a lie, that would add up to probably hundreds of statements and reported events that you claim are actually false.

If you can verify that everything Terri's supporters say is either rhetoric or a lie (which you obviously think that you can do) then you must be very close to Terri at all times. You must see her every day to be able to verify that all of this stuff is a huge lie.

Are you Michael, or Felos, or Jodi, or maybe Bushnell....or maybe Michael has picked up another girlfriend on the side? These are the only people I can think of that could possibly spend enough time with Terri to prove that everything her supporters say is a lie, since her family is no longer allowed to visit.

Please clarify your identity for the rest of us who have so obviously been lied to all of this time....

Disclaimer: It is now my duty to remind you that I am a huge Terri supporter, and therefore, this post was written with the utmost sarcasm. May I correct your post? Terri's support network is more like ONE-HALF MILLION TO ONE MILLION, not the paltry 300K you mentioned in your post.

IIRC, two trial-court judges have dealt with Terri. I forget the name of the second, but he found in favor of the Schindlers. Unfortunately, Felos got his judgement thrown out on the basis that the parents were supposed to only bring motions before Judge Greer. The motion was remanded to Greer's court, with predictable results.
