Thank you........I didn't realize that it was the corn that was the high carb problem.
Therefore my suggestion of making them yourself would be totally worthless.
I've made my own tortilla chips from from fresh tortillas.

No, a person could eat moderate amounts of any food and balance it with protein. If you made your own, it would not have all the bad junk in commercial varieties (and you could add fiber). If I really craved this stuff, I would ask you for a recipe!

Interesting thing about corn. Many people think of it as a vegetable but in fact it is a grain. For years and years, I would have corn with my meals as my "vegetable." My typical meal (from my fat days) would be meat, corn and rice. I'd mix the corn and rice together, slather it with margarine (thinking it was better than butter) and think I was eating pretty healthy. I'd even mop it all up with slabs of fresh bread. Then I'd wonder why the pounds kept piling on.
